Sally Wright is our guest for this episode of Mountain Land Physical Therapy’s Pelvic Health Podcast. Sally was certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2016 and has served as a volunteer Leader since 2006 with La Leche League. Sally is a mother of five children, including a set of girl/boy twins and is currently working for Motherfed in the Salt Lake Region. During today’s podcast we discuss the nature physiology of breast feeding, anatomy of breast tissue, common nursing difficulties including Mastitis, sore nipples, poor latch and lack of milk coming in. Our conversation includes different causes of breast feeding difficulties and treatment options to reduce complications.

Katie Woolf is our guest for this episode of Mountain Land Physical Therapy’s Pelvic Health Podcast. She received her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University-Hawaii in Exercise Sports Science with a minor in Mathematics followed by her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Eastern Washington University and completed her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification in 2020. She is currently serving as APTA Utah Public Relations Chair and Utah Pelvic Health Special Interest Group President. This is part 2 of our podcast series on transgender population and their medical journey with the transition from female to male. The information discussed includes WPATH requirements for surgery, medical procedures beginning with hysterectomy with Vaginectomy, Top Surgery, Metodioplasty, and Phalloplasty. With each of these procedures, we will provide information on expectations of pre and post-op medical and physical therapy appointments and specific PT interventions including education, scar tissue mobilization, stretching, lymph massage, and dilator training.
