Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2503247/fan_mail/new] Our hearts are heavy. The heartbreaking school tragedy in Tacloban has left families grieving, students traumatized, and an entire nation searching for answers. In this special episode of Rise Tayo, we don't attempt to explain every "why." Instead, we turn to God's Word to discover what it teaches about the human heart, spiritual warfare, the danger of unresolved anger and bitterness, and the hope that is found only in Jesus Christ. Together we'll look at the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4, where God warned Cain before tragedy struck, reminding us that the greatest battles often begin in the heart. We'll also talk about the spiritual battle for the next generation, the importance of raising our children in the fear of the Lord, and why parents and the Church have such a vital role in discipling young people. Most importantly, this episode points to the One who is near to the brokenhearted. Jesus never promised a life free from suffering, but He did promise His presence, His peace, and His victory: "In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." — John 16:33 If you're grieving, fearful, or searching for hope, this message is for you. Key Scriptures: *  Genesis 4:4–8  *  Ephesians 4:26–27  *  Ephesians 6:12  *  Proverbs 9:10  *  John 10:10  *  John 16:33  *  Psalm 34:18  *  Hebrews 12:15  *  Ezekiel 36:26 🇵🇭 To my beloved kababayans: If your heart is hurting today, this message is for you. Please stay until the very end. I want to personally share the most important message you'll ever hear—how you can be born again and have the hope, peace, and eternal life that only Jesus Christ can give. A Mother's Sacrifice, A Daughter's Triumph | The Filipino Immigrant Dream

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2503247/fan_mail/new] What would you sacrifice for your child's future? In this deeply emotional episode of Rise Tayo Podcast, we share the incredible true story of Maria "Che" Ong and her daughter, Arabella—a story of sacrifice, separation, perseverance, faith, and the Filipino immigrant dream. In 2011, Che left the Philippines with only two suitcases, $500 in her pocket, and a dream of creating a better future for her family. She arrived in North Carolina alone, sleeping on the floor of an unfurnished apartment while working tirelessly as a Physical Therapist. But the road was not easy. For four long years, she lived thousands of miles away from her husband and six-year-old daughter, Arabella. She battled loneliness, homesickness, uncertainty, and even survived a near-fatal car accident that nearly ended her life. During that moment, one thought consumed her heart: "My daughter is still in the Philippines." Meanwhile, Arabella was growing up without her mother physically present, holding onto hope that one day they would be reunited. After years of sacrifice, that reunion finally came. Today, Arabella is a Summa Cum Laude graduate and will begin her nursing career as a Neuro ICU nurse at Duke University Hospital. Together, this mother-daughter tandem reflects on the challenges of immigration, cultural identity, bullying, discrimination, resilience, family values, and the sacrifices that often go unseen behind success. This episode is for every Filipino immigrant, every OFW, every parent who has sacrificed for their children, and every child who wants to understand what their parents endured to create opportunities for them. In this episode we discuss: 🇵🇭 Leaving family behind to pursue opportunities abroad 💔 The reality of homesickness and separation 🚑 Surviving a near-death experience 👩‍👧 The emotional impact on both mother and daughter 📚 Overcoming bullying and discrimination 💪 Filipino resilience and perseverance 🏥 Nursing, healthcare, and serving others 🙏 Faith, hope, and never giving up As Che reminds us: "Never say never. Never quit. There's no success in quitting." And as Arabella encourages the next generation: "If I can do it, you can do it too." ❤️ If this story touched your heart, please LIKE, COMMENT, and SHARE this episode with your family, friends, and fellow kababayans around the world. Many Filipinos have lived this story. Many children have waited for a parent working abroad. Many families have sacrificed in silence. Let's honor those sacrifices by sharing this message of hope, resilience, and faith. 📢 SHARE THIS WITH EVERY KABABAYAN YOU KNOW. The Philippines Earthquake: Is God Trying to Get Our Attention? | Matthew 24

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2503247/fan_mail/new] A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake recently struck parts of Mindanao, including General Santos City, Sarangani, and surrounding areas, leaving families grieving, communities shaken, and many asking difficult questions. Where is God in times like these? What does the Bible say about earthquakes? And what did Jesus mean when He spoke about earthquakes in the last days? In this episode of Rise Tayo, we take a biblical look at current events through the lens of Matthew 24, where Jesus warned that wars, famines, and earthquakes would be among the signs preceding His return. We discuss: 🇵🇭 The Philippines and its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire  🌋 Why our nation is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world  📖 Jesus' teaching on earthquakes and the "beginning of birth pains"  ⏳ The fragility of life and the reality of eternity  ❤️ God's loving call to repentance  ✝️ The difference between religion and a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ  🙏 The hope of the Gospel in an uncertain world This episode is not about fear, date-setting, or claiming that God is specifically judging a particular city or group of people. Instead, it is a reminder that life is fragile, tomorrow is not promised, and God's invitation to salvation is still available today. We also explore powerful passages including Matthew 24:6-8, Luke 13:1-5, Acts 3:19, 2 Peter 3:8-10, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-13, and Revelation 3:20. If there is one lesson we can take from tragedies like this, it is this: The greatest tragedy is not that the ground beneath us can shake. The greatest tragedy is standing before God unprepared. At the end of this episode, I share a prayer of repentance, salvation, and hope for anyone who desires to return to God or surrender their life to Jesus Christ. 🎧 Listen, reflect, and share with someone who needs encouragement and truth today.  After this episode, I challenge you to read Matthew 24, Luke 21, and 2 Peter 3 for yourself. Don't take my word for it. Open the Scriptures and see what Jesus said. " Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." Revelation 3:20 NIV

What I Wish Someone Had Taught Me About Money, Time, and Legacy

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2503247/fan_mail/new] Growing up in the Philippines, nobody taught me about 401(k)s, Roth IRAs, investing, life insurance, or building wealth. Like many immigrant families, we were simply trying to survive and make the most of what we had. Now, as a wife, mother of three boys, nurse, and entrepreneur, I've found myself thinking deeply about the future—retirement, college savings, financial stewardship, and the legacy I want to leave behind. But during that journey, I realized something surprising. The most valuable asset I have isn't money. It's time. In this heartfelt episode, I share lessons from my childhood, the immigrant experience, parenting, financial stewardship, healing childhood wounds, and why creating memories with our children may be one of the greatest investments we can ever make. In this episode, we'll discuss: • What I wish someone had taught me about money and investing • Why life insurance and financial planning are acts of love • The difference between building wealth and building a legacy • Healing your inner child while raising your own children • The tension between saving for tomorrow and enjoying today • Why time is one of God's most precious gifts • What Jesus meant when He asked, "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" Whether you're a parent, an immigrant, or someone trying to steward your life wisely, this episode will encourage you to focus on what truly matters. 📖 Scriptures: Psalm 90:12 Matthew 16:26 You can always make more money. But you cannot make more time. The question is: Are you spending your life on what matters most? If this episode encouraged you, I'd love to hear from you. What is one lesson about money, time, or legacy that you wish someone had taught you? Send me a message, leave a review, or share this episode with a friend or family member who needs this reminder today. And if this conversation blessed you, please subscribe to Rise Tayo so together we can continue growing in faith, purpose, and wisdom.

To My Kababayan Who Feels Like Giving Up… Please Listen | Mental Health & Hope

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2503247/fan_mail/new] This episode is for the Filipino who feels emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, lonely, or ready to give up. If you’ve ever whispered, “Pagod na ako…” please listen. In this heartfelt Rise Tayo conversation, Coach Blanche speaks honestly about the silent struggles many Filipinos carry—family pressure, immigrant loneliness, trauma, burnout, shame, and the expectation to simply endure in silence. But this is also a message of hope. Jesus invites the weary in Matthew 11:28: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." We are reminded that God will never leave us nor forsake us. He hears our cries. Even throughout Scripture, we see real human anguish: ✨ David cried out in deep distress ✨ Elijah became so overwhelmed that God lovingly met him with rest and provision ✨ Many faithful men and women in the Bible wrestled with fear, anxiety, grief, and exhaustion Struggling does not mean God has abandoned you. If you feel unseen today, please hear this: Your life matters. Your pain is real. And your story is not over. If you are in immediate danger or may act on thoughts of self-harm, please seek immediate emergency help. In the U.S. & Canada, call or text 988 for crisis support. Share this episode with a kababayan who may need hope today. #RiseTayo #FilipinoMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #HopeAndHealing #FaithAndMentalHealth #FilipinoCommunity #YouAreNotAlone
