In this episode of the Mommy Monitor Report, Elsie Amoako (Founder of Mommy Monitor [//mommymonitor.ca/]) and Cheyenne Scarlett (MA ECS) discuss the importance of engaging Black mothers in maternal health research, and the findings of Cheyenne's own qualitative study on the childbirth experiences of Black mothers in the GTA. Cheyenne is a recent master's graduate and mom of 3. She is passionate about supporting families and helping them feel more confident in their abilities. Reflections on Black Maternal Health: A Nurse's Perspective

In this episode, Mommy Monitor's founder, Elsie Amoako, sits down with registered nurse, Janet Randle, to discuss the maternal health experiences of Black mothers in Canada, the US, and Africa from a nursing perspective. Janet Randle is a Perinatal Nurse in the Fetal Medicine Special Pregnancy Program at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. Janet has also worked as a Perinatal Nurse in two of her favourite cities, Los Angeles and New York, and has participated in three global health missions in Liberia, West Africa. She is a mother to three amazing boys, has recently started blogging about her experiences as a Black woman, has a Master's degree in Public Health, is certified in infection control, and recently co-founded an infection prevention and control consultancy company. She is passionate about Black maternal health and hopes to one day teach what she has learned in her clinical role to nurses and community health workers in Ghana.
