Her wild journey began at Camp Woodward skateboard camp, where she met Tony Hawk and started her first business. She won her first snowboard competition without knowing how to ride. When her career ended after a few close calls, Kyla started a snack food company while in college, attained several degrees, and then sold rock climbing walls. While teaching at CU, she was introduced to another extreme sport—trapeze—and ultimately joined the circus in Japan.
