In this episode of Estheticians in Business, Allyson breaks down the biggest signs your pricing may not actually support your life, your business, or your long-term goals. This conversation goes way deeper than “just raise your prices.” We’re talking about: * pricing mindset * confidence * positioning * retail * upgrades * sustainability * and why being busy does NOT automatically mean profitable If pricing conversations make you uncomfortable, this episode is for you. ✨ In This Episode, We Cover * The biggest signs you’re undercharging * Why being fully booked doesn’t always mean profitable * The mindset issues behind pricing fear * Why estheticians avoid money conversations * How to stop pricing based on your own wallet * The importance of positioning and perceived value * Why cheap pricing creates burnout * What to fix before raising your prices 🚨 Sign #1: You’re Fully Booked… But Still Financially Stressed If your schedule is packed but you still: * can’t breathe financially * struggle paying taxes * feel overwhelmed by overhead * constantly stress about money …your pricing may not actually support your life. Being busy is NOT the same thing as being profitable. 🚨 Sign #2: You Panic When Someone Questions Your Pricing If someone says: “That’s expensive” …and your stomach immediately drops… there’s a good chance you don’t fully believe in your pricing yet. This episode dives into: * confidence * value * positioning * benefit-to-cost ratio * trust and authority 🚨 Sign #3: You Avoid Money Conversations Examples: * avoiding retail recommendations * skipping upgrades * not rebooking confidently * feeling awkward suggesting services You cannot run a business while avoiding money conversations. Clients come to you because you’re the expert. Your job is to guide them. 🚨 Sign #4: Your Clients Rarely Say No If every single client immediately says yes to your pricing… you may actually be pricing too low. Not everyone is supposed to be an automatic yes. 🚨 Sign #5: You Compete on Price If your biggest selling point is being “cheaper”… that’s a dangerous business model. Cheap pricing often leads to: * burnout * low loyalty * overworking * needing too many clients 🚨 Sign #6: Your Service Doesn’t Match Your Effort If you’re providing: * long appointments * emotional energy * customization * education * aftercare support * treatment planning …but charging like you did years ago… you’re likely undercharging. 💡 Why Estheticians Undercharge Common reasons include: * fear of losing clients * imposter syndrome * people pleasing * comparing pricing to competitors * needing quick cash * lack of confidence One of the biggest reminders in this episode: “You’re pricing from fear instead of sustainability.” ✨ What To Do Instead1. Know Your Actual Numbers Look at: * taxes * overhead * subscriptions * product costs * unpaid admin time * profit margins * 2. Improve Your Experience Review: * consultations * atmosphere * follow-up * treatment plans * client journey * education * 3. Raise Prices Strategically Not emotionally. Examples: * gradual increases * simplifying your menu * increasing your average ticket * improving positioning 4. Stop Managing People’s Wallets Just because YOU wouldn’t buy it… doesn’t mean THEY wouldn’t. Clients are allowed to decide what they value. 📈 Real Client Example One coaching client went from: ✨ $125 average ticket → $194 average ticket What changed? * pricing * * upgrades * retail * treatment planning Same clients. Same schedule. More income. And if pricing is something you struggle with, DM Allyson on Instagram: @estheticianinbusiness 💛

Social Media Basics for Estheticians: How to Show Up Without Overthinking Everything

Resources MentionedEstheticians in Business Facebook Group [https://www.facebook.com/groups/estheticiansinbusiness]Booked Solid Bundle [https://allyson-steinberg-s-school.teachable.com/] Episode Description If social media makes you angry, overwhelmed, or stuck in comparison mode, this episode is for you. In this episode of Estheticians in Business, Allyson breaks down the basics of Instagram and social media marketing for estheticians. She covers the mindset behind posting, why consistency matters more than perfection, how to clean up your bio, and how to generate content ideas your ideal clients actually care about. This episode is a practical reset for any esthetician who wants to get better at showing up online without copying everyone else or waiting until everything feels perfect. What You’ll Learn * Why social media is part of your job if you want to grow * Why posting imperfect content is better than not posting at all * How the Instagram algorithm learns who to show your content to * What your bio needs to include so people know who you are and how to book * Why you don’t need to rely on trends, dancing, or fancy transitions * How to use client questions and Facebook groups for content ideas * Why repeating content is not only okay, but smart * How consistency builds trust, confidence, and visibility over time Social Media Is a Mindset Game Growth is not instant. You get better by doing it. Posting is how you learn what works. If You Create It, Post It Even if it only reaches 300 people, that is still 300 people who saw your name, your work, or your message. Your Bio Needs to Be Clear Make sure your profile says: * Your name * Your location * What you do * Who you help * How to book People should understand you in seconds. You Don’t Need to Be Trendy You do not have to dance, do complicated transitions, or chase every trending audio. Simple content that teaches, shows your work, and helps your client is enough. Content Ideas Are Everywhere Use: * Client questions Facebook group questions * Google searches * Common skincare myths * Things your clients struggle with If someone asks it, someone else is probably wondering too. Repetition Builds Results You do not need brand-new topics every day. Reuse what worked. Say the same thing in different ways. People need to hear it more than once. This Week’s Challenge Pick one thing your clients ask you all the time and turn it into a post, reel, or carousel. Don’t overthink it. Post it. The “Unhinged” Things I Did to Become a Six-Figure Esthetician Quickly

Resources: Booked Solid Bundle & Estheticians in Business coaching [https://allyson-steinberg-s-school.teachable.com/] Before Allyson became a business coach, she was a solo esthetician doing everything she could to get clients in the door. In this episode, she shares the real, unconventional, and sometimes “unhinged” strategies she used to grow to six figures quickly starting with almost no clients. This episode is not about perfection. It’s about consistency, conversations, community, and doing what it takes to build momentum in your business. If you’re struggling to get clients, grow your books, or consistently market yourself, this episode is packed with practical ideas you can start using immediately. * The mindset that helped Allyson keep going * Why “dead conversations” helped grow her business * How she used Facebook groups and networking to get clients * The giveaway strategy she used to build content and testimonials * How referrals became a major growth tool * Why follow-up matters more than most estheticians realize * The weekly booking goal she focused on consistently One of the biggest principles behind Allyson’s growth was: “I did everything expecting nothing… but I knew something would happen if I didn’t quit.” She focused on: * Showing up consistently * Having conversations * Building relationships * Continuing even when results weren’t immediate A huge part of building her business was having endless conversations that didn’t always lead to immediate bookings. But every conversation helped: * Build confidence * Improve communication * Create visibility * Strengthen future referrals Many eventually turned into long-term clients. Instead of cold messaging strangers, Allyson focused on: * Permission-based conversations * Leads from Facebook groups * Referrals from existing clients * Following up after someone expressed interest This made conversations feel more natural and relationship-based. One of the biggest growth tools was directly asking for referrals. Examples included: * Asking happy clients to text friends immediately * Building relationships strong enough for word-of-mouth referrals * Following up with referred leads directly The goal was simple: Get more conversations started. Early on, Allyson used giveaways and free services intentionally to: * Build content * Collect testimonials * Practice consultations and upselling * Gain exposure * Generate rebooking opportunities This was never about becoming “the free service esthetician.” It was about building momentum. Instead of relying only on Instagram, Allyson spent significant time: * Inside Facebook groups * Answering questions * Starting conversations * Becoming visible in her community The goal wasn’t just posting. It was relationship-building. Networking became part of daily life. This included: * Vendor events * Partnerships with local businesses * Relationships with hairstylists, massage therapists, tattoo artists, and more * Local business groups and networking events The focus was simple: Get in front of as many people as possible. One of the biggest differences was consistent follow-up. Key reminder: Follow-up is not annoying when it’s genuinely helping someone. People often need reminders, guidance, and multiple touchpoints before booking. One of the simplest strategies: Focus on booking 3 new clients every week. Not rebooks. New clients. That consistent focus created long-term momentum. You cannot build a business by quietly waiting for people to find you. Growth comes from: * Conversations * Visibility * Networking * Referrals * Follow-up * Consistency Even when it feels repetitive. * Booked Solid Bundle * Estheticians in Business coaching * Marketing support and strategy training You don’t need to do everything perfectly.
