Over Freedom Church
So that people far from God can experience life in Christ.
Easter at Freedom
In this message Pastor J.R. explains that even when life looks good on the outside, people can still feel lost internally, pointing to the encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus in John 3. He highlights that true life requires being “born again,” and connects this to the Old Testament story where God provided healing through looking at the lifted serpent. The message emphasizes that while people can choose sin, they cannot avoid its consequences, but God offers a simple yet powerful solution—look to Him in faith. Pastor J.R. then shows how Jesus being lifted on the cross provides forgiveness and eternal life, which is the true meaning of Easter. He concludes that because of the resurrection, people can step out of shame and darkness into new life, no longer hiding but fully transformed through trusting Christ.
Be Loud
In this message Pastor J.R. explains the significance of Passover and connects it to Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, emphasizing God’s plan of deliverance and salvation. He challenges listeners to consider what areas of their lives they need to be “untied” from, suggesting that many are spiritually stuck not from lack of love for God but from living bound by habits or fears. The message highlights how Jesus intentionally chose a donkey, symbolizing peace rather than war, showing that His mission was spiritual, not political. Pastor J.R. stresses that while people expected outward change and immediate relief, Jesus came to bring deeper transformation—freedom from sin and peace within. He concludes by urging people to fully surrender to Jesus as King, not just seek Him on their own terms, and to boldly share their faith.
Why I Tithe
In this message Pastor J.R. teaches that tithing is about returning the first 10% to God as an act of obedience, honor, and trust. It is not something done out of guilt or to gain blessings. He explains that tithing reminds believers that Jesus is King and that God—not income or possessions—is their true provider. The message emphasizes that tithing stretches faith, helps break cycles of fear and lack, and shifts perspective from ownership to stewardship. Pastor J.R. also highlights that tithing is an act of obedience rooted in Jesus’ teaching and is meant to build stronger faith in God’s provision. He concludes by saying that tithing creates eternal impact through generosity and is a response to God’s grace and love rather than a requirement to earn it.
Principle of Multiplication
In this message Pastor J.R. explains the biblical principle of sowing and reaping, emphasizing that in life you reap what you sow. He teaches that this principle applies to every area of life—attitudes, generosity, forgiveness, and kindness—not just finances. The message highlights that when people sow good things like grace, generosity, and forgiveness, those same qualities are reproduced and multiplied in their lives. Pastor J.R. also stresses that harvests often come later than the planting, encouraging people not to grow weary in doing good because God brings the harvest in His timing. He concludes by reminding listeners that generosity is not about losing something but about planting a seed that God can multiply.
First Things First
In this message Pastor J.R. teaches the biblical principle of “First Things First,” explaining that God gave first—demonstrated through Christ’s sacrifice—so believers are called to honor God with the first portion of their lives and resources. He connects passages from Romans, Colossians, Corinthians, and Exodus to show that the firstborn and firstfruits belong to God and represent a redemptive principle. Using the example from Exodus, he explains that the clean firstborn could redeem the unclean, illustrating how Jesus, who was clean, sacrificed Himself to redeem sinful humanity. He also compares the offerings of Cain and Abel, emphasizing that Abel gave the first and best while Cain gave what was left, highlighting that faith and trust are shown by giving God the first portion. Pastor J.R. concludes by teaching that tithing is not the gospel but a response of trust after believing the gospel, and he invites listeners to respond by trusting God fully and putting Him first.
