Episode 53: Planting in the 'Burro with Blake & Sam Pierce

Blake and Sam’s story is one of calling, partnership, and a shared passion for seeing people transformed by the gospel. In this episode of Tennessee Golden Hour, we sit down with this husband-and-wife church planting team to talk about ministry, marriage, discipleship, and the journey that led them to plant Christ Fellowship. From meeting as small group leaders in their college BCM to serving together in ministry for more than a decade, Blake and Sam share how God shaped their hearts for teaching His Word and helping others live in light of the gospel in every area of life. They also open up about balancing ministry and family life while raising four children and stepping into the challenges and joys of church planting. Blake, who holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, will serve as Lead Planter and Pastor for Christ Fellowship. Together, Blake and Sam offer an encouraging and thoughtful conversation about faithfulness, calling, and building a gospel-centered community from the ground up. Whether you are serving in ministry, supporting church planting, or simply longing to follow Christ more faithfully in your everyday life, this conversation will encourage your heart and challenge your perspective. In this episode: * How Blake and Sam met through BCM ministry * Lessons learned serving together in ministry * The realities of church planting as a family * Discipleship and living out the gospel daily * Encouragement for pastors, leaders, and young families * Why gospel-centered community matters now more than ever Take a moment to subscribe, share this episode with a friend, and join us for another conversation during the Tennessee Golden Hour. 🌅

Episode 52: Bill Elliff- Prayer and Spiritual Awakening

What happens when prayer becomes more than a discipline and begins to shape the entire atmosphere of a church, a home, and a life? In this special conversation on Tennessee Golden Hour, I sit down with Bill Elliff to talk about prayer, spiritual awakening, and the presence-centered life. Bill has spent decades encouraging pastors, churches, and families to move beyond activity and rediscover the transforming presence of God. In this conversation, we discuss: • Why many churches are busy but spiritually exhausted • The connection between prayer and genuine awakening • How pastors can lead from intimacy with Christ instead of pressure and performance • The role families play in cultivating spiritual hunger at home • Why revival begins quietly in surrendered hearts before it is ever seen publicly • The difference between talking about God and truly abiding in Him Whether you are a pastor, ministry leader, parent, or believer longing for renewal, this conversation offers encouragement, clarity, and a fresh call to seek God deeply. Thank you for joining us for Tennessee Golden Hour. If this conversation encourages you, please subscribe, share it with others, and pass along the hope of spiritual renewal. #Prayer #SpiritualAwakening #Revival #BillElliff #ChristianPodcast #Pastors #ChurchRenewal #PrayerLife #Faith #TennesseeGoldenHour

Episode 51: Where Lives Are Changed: The Power of Camp Ministry in Tennessee

What happens when students step away from the noise of everyday life and encounter God in a new way? In this episode of The Tennessee Golden Hour, hosts Matt Tullos and Beth Moore sit down with Kevin Perrigan (Carson Springs Conference Center) and Jimmy Tucker (Linden Valley Conference Center) to explore the life-changing impact of camp ministry across Tennessee. From powerful salvation stories to behind-the-scenes insights, this conversation reveals why camps remain one of the most effective tools for spiritual transformation in the next generation—and beyond. 🔥 In This Episode: * How God calls leaders into camp ministry (often unexpectedly!) * Why camp creates a unique environment for spiritual breakthrough * Real stories of lives changed—students, staff, and families * What a typical day at camp looks like (and why it matters) * How churches can use Carson Springs & Linden Valley year-round * The “Off the Grid” ministry helping pastors rest and reconnect 🙌 Why This Matters In a world full of distractions, camp offers something rare: space to hear God clearly. Whether you're a pastor, parent, or church leader, this episode will remind you why investing in the next generation—and in your own spiritual renewal—matters more than ever.

aflevering Episode 50: Chad Ramsey: Building a Multi-Generational Mission Strategy at Any Church Size artwork

Episode 50: Chad Ramsey: Building a Multi-Generational Mission Strategy at Any Church Size

In this milestone 50th episode of the Tennessee Golden Hour, hosts Matt Tullos and Beth Moore welcome Chad Ramsey, pastor of First Baptist Smithville, to talk about how an average-sized church can develop a thriving, multi-generational missions strategy. Chad shares the 101/201/301 framework he developed through his Doctor of Ministry project — a tiered approach that helps everyone from first-time volunteers to seasoned mission travelers find their place in God's mission. From quarterly community days offering oil changes, school supplies, and food baskets, to domestic partnerships in Colorado, Boston, and Detroit, to international church planting work in Cologne, Germany, Chad walks through how each level of engagement builds on the last. Key takeaways from this conversation: → You don't need a paid missions pastor — First Baptist Smithville does it all with volunteers → Start local, start simple, and let momentum build over time → Shorter, more frequent trips (2–3 days) often work better than week-long summer trips → Train your people in gospel conversations through hands-on experience, not just classroom settings → Look at who's in your congregation and what God has gifted them to do — then build from there → Use Sunday morning interviews instead of Sunday night reports to share mission stories with the whole church Since Chad arrived nine years ago, the church has grown from around 125 to 325–350 in weekly attendance — and he credits much of that growth to a church culture shaped by mission and service. Whether you're a pastor of 50 or 500, this episode is packed with practical, replicable ideas for mobilizing your church. In Episode 49 of The Tennessee Golden Hour, Matt Tullos and Beth Moore sit down with two trusted leaders from the Tennessee Baptist Children's Homes: Greg McCoy, President Kelly Campbell, Church Engagement Specialist Together, they share powerful stories, urgent needs, and practical ways Tennessee Baptists can step into the foster care crisis across our state. 💙 What You’ll Hear in This Episode: The current state of foster care in Tennessee (8,500–9,000 children in DCS custody) Why Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes provides an extra layer of Christian support for foster families How churches can partner through volunteering, giving, and wraparound care The impact of the Mother’s Day Offering and the Cooperative Program Inspiring real-life stories of adoption and transformation A vision to double foster care capacity in the next five years New campus construction projects designed to better serve children with dignity and safety. 🏡 A Mission That Matters With three residential campuses (Brentwood, Chattanooga, and Millington) and foster care services across the state, TBCH exists to serve children who find themselves in hard places — from homelessness and trauma to parental incarceration and crisis. Last year alone: 99 children were served in foster care 18 adoptions were celebrated Dozens of churches actively partnered in support But the need is growing. 🙏 A Call to Action Not everyone is called to foster or adopt — but everyone can do something. Could you provide meals? Offer tutoring? Quilt blankets? Support through giving? Share the mission with your church? As Greg shares, “It’s not about us — it’s about the kids.” The episode closes with a heartfelt prayer for vulnerable children across Tennessee — that they would be protected, supported, and ultimately pointed to Jesus.
