UofL's Adrian Wooley ready for starring role this basketball season

This episode of The C.L. Brown Show [https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast] features Louisville basketball [https://gocards.com/sports/mens-basketball] guard Adrian Wooley [https://gocards.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/adrian-wooley/18079]. As the Cardinals' lone returning player from last year's rotation, Wooley says he's ready to take on more responsibility this season. First up is getting the 12 newcomers — nine transfers, three freshmen — acclimated to coach Pat Kelsey [https://gocards.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/pat-kelsey/2670] and his many acronyms. He says that starts with no "BCD," which stands for "blame, complain or defend." Wooley, who transferred from Kennesaw State in 2025, says he didn't play to his standard last season. He is looking forward to being back in the starting lineup after averaging 11.4 points across his final seven starts of 2025-26, five points higher than his season average. Hear about that and more on this week's episode of The C.L. Brown Show [https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast].

UofL, UK rivalry too great for Jeff Brohm to embrace ex-QB Will Stein

This episode of The C.L. Brown Show [https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast] features Louisville [https://gocards.com/sports/football] football coach Jeff Brohm [https://gocards.com/sports/football]. Brohm is a member of the fraternity of former UofL quarterbacks. So is new Kentucky [https://ukathletics.com/sports/football/] coach Will Stein [http://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/columnists/c-l-brown/2025/12/03/will-stein-kentucky-vs-louisville-football-rivalry-new-uk-coach-played-for-uofl-governors-cup-game/87574539007/]. But Brohm says no one should expect to see a lot of brotherly love between the two. The rivalry with UK is so strong that Brohm says there has to be some separation from Stein. The two are already competing over recruits in the state, and Brohm says the Cardinals spend a lot of time in the offseason getting ready for their "extra bowl game" disguised as the regular season finale against the Wildcats. UK is one of 11 schools in Power Four conferences that the Cards will face, thanks in part to the ACC [https://theacc.com/sports/football] moving to nine league games, and Brohm explains that he's always embraced playing a tough schedule.

NBA Finals lead 2 former UK basketball players down opposite paths

This episode of The C.L. Brown Show [https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast] features Gary Washburn, NBA columnist [https://www.bostonglobe.com/about/staff-list/staff/gary-washburn/] for The Boston Globe [https://www.bostonglobe.com/?p1=BGHeader_Logo]. Did this year's NBA Finals redefine the futures of two former Kentucky Wildcats [https://ukathletics.com/sports/mbball/]? Washburn makes the case that Karl-Anthony Towns [https://www.startribune.com/minnesota-timberwolves-karl-anthony-towns-new-york-knicks-nba-finals-kat-trade/601855601] has altered his career narrative for the better by helping the New York Knicks win their first NBA title since 1973 — and that it happened because he no longer was being asked to carry the team. Conversely, San Antonio Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox’s disappointing Finals performance [https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/spurs-aaron-fox-unfollows-team-171327040.html], specifically in Games 4 and 5, may hint that he no longer has a secure role with the team going forward, Washburn says. Washburn also previews Louisville [https://gocards.com/sports/mens-basketball] guard Mikel Brown Jr. [https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/louisville/2026/06/12/nba-draft-mock-projections-2026-predictions-mikel-brown-jr-ryan-conwell-louisville-uofl-basketball/90210517007/]'s presumed selection in the top 10 of the 2026 NBA Draft [https://www.nba.com/], while pointing out he still could end up just about anywhere because so many teams are potentially trading picks. Hear about that and more on this week's episode of The C.L. Brown Show [https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast].

Chris Redman's changes catapulted Louisville Kings to UFL title game

This episode of The C.L. Brown Show [https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast] features Louisville Kings [https://www.theufl.com/teams/louisville] head coach Chris Redman [https://www.theufl.com/louisville-coaching-staff#head-coach] ahead of their United Bowl [https://www.theufl.com/2026-united-bowl] appearance on Saturday against the D.C. Defenders to crown the United Football League [https://www.theufl.com/] champion. The former University of Louisville quarterback [https://gocards.com/sports/football] talks about the significant changes he made that helped the expansion team [https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/football/kings/2026/04/17/louisville-kings-ufl-team-schedule-lynn-family-stadium-tickets-attendance-united-football-league/89368617007/] turn its inaugural season around to reach the title game despite an 0-3 start [https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/football/kings/2026/04/16/louisville-kings-score-today-ufl-overtime-game-schedule-houston-gamblers-stats-chris-redman/89292168007/]. Redman says he took an "old-school" approach to coaching the team, letting a few talented players go because they didn't fit the team-first culture he was trying to create. He even traded away starting quarterback Jason Bean [https://www.theufl.com/news/ufl-announces-two-trades-involving-four-teams-and-four-quarterbacks] four games into the season, and it ultimately proved to be the right move. The Kings won six of their last seven regular season games to make the UFL playoffs, then avenged their only loss during that streak by beating St. Louis in the semifinals last week. Hear about that and more on this week's episode of The C.L. Brown Show.

How Muhammad Ali Center celebrates The Greatest 10 years after death

This episode of The C.L. Brown Show [https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast] is hosted by college sports enterprise reporter Payton Titus [https://www.courier-journal.com/staff/75915196007/payton-titus/] and features two prominent members of the Muhammad Ali Center [https://alicenter.org/]: chief operating officer Erin Herbert and director of education Garret McCorkle. Herbert and McCorkle remember Muhammad Ali and reflect on his relationship with Louisville 10 years after his death. They explain their perspective on teaching younger generations, who don't know a world with Ali in it, about his life and legacy. And they give a rundown of how people can honor Ali this month with various Muhammad Ali Center events, including the inaugural Day of Compassion on June 3.
