Eleven years ago after 25 years of cricket matches 'Reedybrook Ashes' - Joan Harriman aged 75 years at the time wanted to call it quits and retire. I was lucky enough to catch up with Joan out in her garden as she had a quick break on the 36th year of the Reedybrook Ashes weekend. Do you remember the green heart at the Ekka this year? Amanda Salisbury was the brainchild and eye behind the camera that day. Amanda is an amazing photojournalist and an expert at telling stories of life on the land, in a calm and inclusive way. I caught up with Amanda on the weekend at the QRRRWN Conference in Kingaroy. It was hard to find a quiet place away from the voices of over 100 women, so our chat today has a bit of noise from the street in front of the town hall. It gets a little loud, but please persevere as I am sure you will enjoy this one. The Lynd Oasis Roadhouse, is exactly that! An Oasis in the outback that the locals like to call home. In today's podcast I catch up with Pauline Royes and talk about life at the roadhouse being the centre of the community. Pauline also shares some early stories of life on the Atherton Tablelands. I hope you enjoy this one. The Lynd Oasis Roadhouse Subscribe to the Podcast If you enjoy the show, please subscribe (it's free) to the podcast on ApplePodcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. What happens at a Ladies Day? Apart from having a great time you can listen to inspiring speakers and win big from a multi-draw. Have fun and create amazing craft items with Robyn Strang, Heidi Stewart and Sam Nicol. But if you missed out and really want to hear what ladies from the bush get up too, listen on to this podcast. It just might inspire you to reach out and have a chat, check in on your bush sisters. Thanks to all the ladies from Kooroorinya Ladies Day who had a chat with me. A big thanks to Drought Angels, please check them out. I join other producers today at the Elders Information Roadshow in Charters Towers. It was a great afternoon to catch up, have a BBQ and learn from some interesting presenters supporting graziers in the north.
