The Capitalism for Good Podcast is all about how we make and spend our money to benefit the greater good (and how that benefits us right back). We are on a mission to do 100 interviews with business leaders about how they are using their businesses, both small and large, to make a positive impact in their internal and external communities. This is the intersection of money, time, energy, and bandwidth considering how to balance these for now and for the future.Capitalism for Good is all about community, giveback, business, leaders, founders, owners...you know just folks using business to give back to the communities, prioritize employees, build better culture, make and use sustainable materials, encourage intentional consumerism, and more.We love small businesses, local businesses, businesses run by underrepresented leaders, businesses supporting other businesses, folks making against the grain business and financial decisions, sustainable business, ethical businesses, businesses prioritizing quality and curated experiences, and businesses that encourage your to practice intentional consumerism. We love talking about using capitalism for good.Capitalism for Good talks to business leaders about how they got to where they are, what drives them to make decisions that prioritize people, advice and examples of why supporting community supports the business back, and the impact that business has on the greater community. Then we end with a final question, "who is another business or leader that you see doing things the right way that deserves a shout out," because we believe in recognizing the hard work and intentional decisions of others, even if it's our competition. Because that's what makes us all better. That's how we build better community. That's using Capitalism for Good.Ad-free episodes can be accessed through paid subscription at Patreon.com/CapitalismForGood (options starting at $1).Capitalism for Good has a touchy feely introspective sister project called Bittersweet Paradox all about how the darkest of times and the lightest of times can exist simultaneously through both a Writing Club and a Podcast. The Capitalism for Green project puts the lessons learned in Capitalism for Good into action in real time.Apple Podcasts | Between the Interviews | Bittersweet Paradox | BioSite | Bluesky | Capitalism for Green | Company Mentions | Email | Facebook | Instagram | Patreon | Spotify | The Store, by CFG | TikTok | Transcripts | YouTube** Made for those with a tendency to critique capitalism (primarily late-state capitalism outcomes), folks considering creative business strategies, those with a passion for entrepreneurship, folks looking for leadership insights, and all of us customers out there looking to feel good about how and where we're spending our money (especially those advocating to vote with your dollar). Tom Murphy, Owner of Outdoor Odysseys (Interview 40/100)

Episode 40 is an interview with Tom Murphy, Owner of Outdoor Odysseys [Outdoor Odysseys], a sea kayaking tour company based in Friday Harbor, Washington. This is the second episode in a 2-part series that includes the perspective of a small business owner and a direct report. It’s a unique perspective that goes beyond just these two leaders. It’s also, in part, and unexpected ode to the company’s founder, Clark Casebolt, whose natural ability to lead by example to build a stable business on a foundation of analog practices continues to stand the test of time. It’s a case study in living and working in alignment with your values with intention, integrity, and sustainability (in every sense of the world) to build a beautiful community. Alright. That’s enough. Let’s go leave this place better than we found it.  Shout out to:  * Clark Casebolt * All the companies out there quietly putting their passions first Bonus Shout out to:  * Camp Nor’wester [https://www.norwester.org/] * DVA Marketing [https://dvaadv.com/] * Christian Folk (former guide) * Jenny Heap (former guide) * Keith Darnun (former guide) Find Outdoor Odysseys: * Website [https://www.outdoorodysseys.com/] * Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/outdoorodysseys/] * Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/outdoorodysseys/] * LinkedIn [https://www.linkedin.com/company/outdoor-odysseys-sea-kayaking/posts/?feedView=all]  All the ways to find, follow, & support the Capitalism for Good:  Bluesky [https://bsky.app/profile/capitalismforgood.bsky.social] | BioSite [https://bio.site/AndreaMasterson] | Company Mentions [https://www.patreon.com/posts/company-mentions-130196545?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link] | Email [capitalismforgoodproject@gmail.com]| Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584549780792] | Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/capitalismforgoodpodcast/] | https://www.patreon.com/posts/company-mentions-130196545?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_linkPatreon [https://www.patreon.com/CapitalismForGood] | TikTok [https://www.tiktok.com/@capitalismforgood]| Transcripts [https://www.patreon.com/collection/1715637] | YouTube [https://youtube.com/@capitalismforgoodpodcast?si=jt-mAtLapRdNjDve] We encourage intentional consumerism and community-focused business practices. Episode 40 is an interview with Peter Yacobellis, Director of Sales & Marketing of Outdoor Odyssey [https://www.outdoorodysseys.com/]s, a sea kayaking tour company based in Friday Harbor, Washington. This is the first episode in a 2-part series that includes the perspective of a small business owner and a direct report. It’s also a company that I’ve been a customer of twice thanks to the personal recommendation of a local and have since recommended too many times to count. The knowledge & passion of the guides permeates the company and continues to draw in customers and employees for 40 seasons (and hopefully many many more). Alright. That’s enough. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
