We're back after a brief summer hiatus, so let us brush away all these cobwebs and regale you with some tales from our adventures. We also dive deep into Pixies' debut, "Surfer Rosa", and The Breeders' "Pod"

This week we talk about the Riot Grrrl and Seattle Grunge movement, focusing on the rise of political virtuosos "Bikini Kill" and the tragic sudden ending of "The Gits" just as they were on the verge of stardom. We also discuss the tragic passing of prolific producer and musician, Steve Albini.

In this episode we discuss Coheed and Cambria's 2007 progressive/emo/metal fusion concept album with a title so long I won't write it twice. We've got soaring guitars, obscenely catchy choruses, and vaguely incomprehensible science fiction space opera lyrics sung in a piercing yet effortless tenor. Then, we tackle the epidemic of musician biopic movies by going through critical and audience receptions of some of the biggest names to receive the treatment. Also discussed: Beat Saber, Shogun, Three Body Problem, Jethro Tull, Everything But the Girl, Daft Punk, Museums, and Bicycles (I want to ride my!)

You wanted hot takes on daylight savings time, baseball, and the video game Balatro right? Well, in the key of our life, these are our songs. After we gripe, we talk about the beloved album "Songs in the Key of Life" by Stevie Wonder. Album discussion starts at 27 minutes. After the album, we draft our top 4 double albums and pit them head to head in gladiatorial combat at your mercy. Also discussed: The Pillows, Jenny Lewis, David Berman, The Clash, Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, The Beatles, Genesis, Smashing Pumpkins, Bob Dylan, Say Anything

In this episode we travel back to 1992 and join Faith No More as they deprive themselves of sleep, denounce the evils of capitalistic exploitation, and extol the virtues of healthy competition and energetic oral stimulation. Chris then walks us through the time capsule that is Kerrang!'s top 50 albums of all time (circa 2003) and we discover that, damn, 1991 was a great year for music. Austin also mixes up Lynyrd Skynyrd for CCR and makes himself a life-long enemy of southern rock fans. Also mentioned in this episode: Del the Funky Homosapien, The Breeders, Pixies, School of Fish, Incubus, Paul Verhoeven, and Kyuss
