Copperhead Road

There is a stretch of ground under our oak tree we call Copperhead Road. Found three of them there last year. Growing up in South Carolina, you learn fast to not like copperheads. The LORD put enmity between us and the serpent, and I abide by that rule. But here is the thing: while I was writing this, I wasn't afraid. There weren't any snakes in the house. Anxiety would be worrying that one is about to crawl out from under the desk anyway. Fear looks at a snake on the floor. Anxiety looks for a snake that isn't there. Outnumbered

We like to bring as large an army as possible, but God prefers to be outnumbered. He likes it that way. In His army, quality is much better than quantity. That was the case of small David defeating giant Goliath. It was the same with Moses, Elijah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Daniel, Paul, and many others. God only needed one who was faithful to bring victory.
