episode The Pope of Palm Beach Audiobook by Tim Dorsey cover

The Pope of Palm Beach Audiobook by Tim Dorsey

Listen to this audiobook in full for free on http://hotaudiobook.com [http://hotaudiobook.com] Title: The Pope of Palm Beach Subtitle: A Novel Author: Tim Dorsey Narrator: Oliver Wyman Format: Unabridged Length: 9 hrs and 45 mins Language: English Release date: 01-30-18 Publisher: Harper Audio Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: From Florida's "compulsively irreverent and shockingly funny" (Boston Globe) king of mayhem, the New York Times best-selling author Tim Dorsey, comes a diabolically madcap adventure featuring the indomitable Serge A. Storms. No one worships the Sunshine State as much as Serge A. Storms. Perpetually hunting Floridian arcana and lore, he and his permanently baked sidekick, Coleman, are on the road again. This time they're on a frenzied literary pilgrimage that leads them back to Riviera Beach, the cozy seaside town where the boys spent their formative years. Growing up, Serge was enthralled by the Legend of Riviera Beach, aka Darby, a welder at the port who surfed the local waves long before the hot spots were hot. A god on the water, the big-hearted surfer was a friend to everyone - the younger surfers, cops, politicians, wealthy businessmen, and ordinary Joes - a generosity of spirit that earned him the admiration of all. Meanwhile, there was a much murkier legend that made the rounds of the schoolyards from Serge's youth - that of the crazy hermit living in a makeshift jungle compound farther up the mysterious Loxahatchee River than anyone dared to venture. Then Serge moved away. But never forgot. Now he's back, with those legends looming larger than ever in the rearview mirror of his memory. As his literary odyssey moves north from Key West, closer and closer to his old stomping grounds, Serge digs into the past as only Serge can. Along the way, he unintentionally disturbs some long-forgotten ground, attracting the attention of a cast of villains that only Florida can produce. As the body count grows, so does the list of questions: Why are the guys in the hard hats worried about the monkeys? When do you hack a motel air-conditioner? How does Coleman get high with cat toys? Who is expecting the dildo? And will book tours ever be the same after Serge decides to check one out? Told in alternating flashbacks between Serge and Coleman's childhoods and the present day, The Pope of Palm Beach is a witty and deliciously violent delight from the twisted imagination of Tim Dorsey.

episode Out of the Soylent Planet: A Rex Nihilo Adventure Audiobook by Robert Kroese cover

Out of the Soylent Planet: A Rex Nihilo Adventure Audiobook by Robert Kroese

Listen to this audiobook in full for free on http://hotaudiobook.com [http://hotaudiobook.com] Title: Out of the Soylent Planet: A Rex Nihilo Adventure Subtitle: Starship Grifters, Book 0 Author: Robert Kroese Narrator: J.D. Ledford Format: Unabridged Length: 9 hrs and 17 mins Language: English Release date: 01-19-18 Publisher: Robert Kroese Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 1 votes Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: Interstellar con man Rex Nihilo has a price tag on his head. Railroaded into smuggling a shipment of contraband corn to a planet short on food, Rex finds himself on the run from an insidious corporation named Ubiqorp, which reaps obscene profits by keeping the planet dependent on shipments of synthetic rations. When Rex and his long-suffering robot companion Sasha are sentenced to work as slave labor on a massive Ubiqorp plantation, they learn the terrible secret behind the corporation's products. To escape, Rex and Sasha team up with a mis-programmed combat drone and an intelligent mutant plant to lead a rebellion against their merciless corporate overlords. Out of the Soylent Planet is a novel-length prequel to Starship Grifters, the book New York Times best-selling author Hugh Howey called "one of my favorite space romps of all time". Members Reviews: Make reviews fun again out of soylent planet by kroese with sasha, she's no floozy in streetcar she's stella ends up with a fella the rest of this story's a doozy stranded on soylent planet rex very often says dammit through soylent wrangling and other shenanegans rob kroese makes reading fun again I snorted coffee out of my nose. Absolutely worth the wait! This is the third in an outstanding series that keeps getting funnier. Love Yet another Rob Kroese hit. Rex is outstandingly obnoxious as usual. Love it Laughs, adventuresâand creamed corn Sasha, the narrator of Out of the Soylent Planet, is a Self-Arresting near-Sentient Heuristic Android . As she admits, she âwas no good in a fight, couldnât tell a lie to save my life, and shut down whenever I had a good ideaâ (This last feature was required by GASP, the Galactic Artificial Sentience Prohibition of 2998, designed to ensure that AIs did not show up their human creators.). Nonetheless, Sasha and her owner, Rex Nihilo, manage to get out of a tremendous number of VERY bad situations. When the book opens, Rex is trying to sell some illegal explosives and get out of his debt to the interplanetary crime boss Bergoon the Grebatt, but he and Sasha find themselves shipped off to the planet Jorfu, where they immediately get into in hot water again for illegally importing cans of creamed corn. They have help in their adventures from a sentient version of the SHAMBLER (Self-Harvesting Ambulatory Legume Resource) plants that are the basis for the food eaten on Jorfu and from Bill, a mis-programmed security-enforcing robot that falls in love with Sasha. Out of the Soylent Planet is clever, funny, sometimes downright silly lighthearted entertainment. One of the bonus features I especially enjoy in Kroeseâs writing, though, is the occasional glimpse of his obvious fascination with learning, especially philosophy. Rex and Sasha attempt one of their many escapes in a battered spaceship named Reductio ad Absurdum, for example, and discover how appropriate is its name. And Sasha has âa full-blown soliloquy on free will and determinismâ, which might not be a good idea, since she was facing down an army of killer robots at the time. She later engages in a discussion of what distinguishes a lovable rogue (Rex) from a villain. This book is a prequel to Starship Grifters, so even though it takes place before that book, the question is whether you can read it first.

episode The Infinite Future Audiobook by Tim Wirkus cover

The Infinite Future Audiobook by Tim Wirkus

Listen to this audiobook in full for free on http://hotaudiobook.com [http://hotaudiobook.com] Title: The Infinite Future Subtitle: A Novel Author: Tim Wirkus Narrator: Michael Crouch, Jonathan Davis, Hillary Huber, full cast Format: Unabridged Length: 13 hrs and 14 mins Language: English Release date: 01-16-18 Publisher: Penguin Audio Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 6 votes Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: An exhilarating, original novel, set in Brazil, Idaho, and outer space, about an obsessive librarian, a down-at-heel author, and a disgraced historian who go on the hunt for a mystical, life-changing book - and find it. The Infinite Future is a mind-bending novel that melds two addictive tales in one. In the first, we meet three broken people, joined by an obsession with a forgotten Brazilian science-fiction author named Salgado-MacKenzie. There's Danny, a writer who's been scammed by a shady literary award committee; Sergio, journalist turned sub-librarian in So Paulo; and Harriet, an excommunicated Mormon historian in Salt Lake City, who years ago corresponded with the reclusive Brazilian writer. The motley trio sets off to discover his identity, and whether his fabled masterpiece - never published - actually exists. Did his inquiries into the true nature of the universe yield something so enormous that his mind was blown for good? In the second half, Wirkus gives us the lost masterpiece itself - the actual text of The Infinite Future, Salgado-MacKenzie's wonderfully weird magnum opus. The two stories merge in surprising and profound ways. Part science fiction, part academic satire, and part book-lover's quest, this wholly original novel captures the heady way that stories inform and mirror our lives. Audiobook Cast of Narrators: Members Reviews: Mormon Lit Just a head's up, it might be worth noting that this book is effectively a piece of Mormon literature as much as it is pseudo-sci-fi. Most of the characters are practicing mormons, and while clearly not a tract, Mormonism is discussed and defended and a lot of Mormon dogma gets milled over (a central character is Mormon President). Your mileage may vary, I never felt like I was being preached to or converted but you will also notice a lack of things outside of the Mormon reckoning, like cussing, sex or the existence of homosexuals. Some readers will have no problem with this, others who might should consider themselves tipped off. Loved this! I thought it was a fantastic story. It is a quest story essentially, filled with intriguing characters. It has a scifi twist, which I love. The ending will divide people and while I might have liked a little more resolution, I was entirely enchanted by the journey. Highly recommended. The readers were brilliant.

Members Reviews: An Awesome Listen I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher and found it very entertaining. What do you get when you mix a Redneck Monster Hunter and a Faerie Queen? Lots of excitement and humour. Bubba tales are always a good time with unique characters and a fast paced plot, you'll just keep listening. John G. Hartness is one of my new favourite authors. Humans in Fairyland The narrator did an excellent job portraying Bubba, a redneck from Georgia in Fairyland. If you are into fighting, beheading with laughs thrown in then you will enjoy this audiobook. Looking Forward To More Of Bubba!! Cold As Ice was my first Bubba the Monster Hunter read and it was great. The stories can be read as stand alones but I am looking forward to going back and reading/listening to the others. Bubba is your typical red neck and has a unique perspective on life and Monster Hunting that is enjoyable to the reader. The narrator does a great job at bringing Bubba and the story to life. Fun and entertaining novella. I enjoyed this audio book about a half fae/ human from Georgia that goes to the land of the Fae to find his kidnapped sister. The characters are unusual and likable.I think the narrator did a good Georgia red neck accent. I voluntarily reviewed this audio book after receiving an advanced copy that I requested. Bubba to the Rescue I have to say I love Bubba , Skeeter, and Father Joe they are all lovable and crazy and enjoy their monster hunting but this is a little different as it has fairies which was ok but not my favorite. This book is where Bubba has to fight to save his mother under his evil grandmothers control. Keep them coming and recommend to anyone who enjoys fun characters especially read by John Solo as he is Bubba. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU

episode Inspector Hobbes and the Gold Diggers Audiobook by Wilkie Martin cover

Inspector Hobbes and the Gold Diggers Audiobook by Wilkie Martin

Listen to this audiobook in full for free on http://hotaudiobook.com [http://hotaudiobook.com] Title: Inspector Hobbes and the Gold Diggers Subtitle: Unhuman, Book 3 Author: Wilkie Martin Narrator: Tim Campbell Format: Unabridged Length: 9 hrs and 46 mins Language: English Release date: 12-08-17 Publisher: The Witcherley Book Company Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 17 votes Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: Receiving unwanted attention after foiling an armed robbery, the unhuman Inspector Hobbes takes a long-overdue camping holiday with Andy, his accident-prone friend, and Dregs, the delinquent dog. In the bleak and dangerous Blacker Mountains, Andy stumbles across something shocking before falling for an attractive widow, while Hobbes wonders why an old gold mine has reopened. On their return to the sleepy Cotswold town of Sorenchester, Hobbes is dumbfounded when Kathy, a reminder of his hippy days, turns up on the doorstep with her baggage. Since Hobbes has to solve a gold robbery and contemplate some perfectly ordinary rocks, Andy must entertain Kathy while trying to protect his new love from a monstrous opponent working for the sinister Sir Gerald Payne. Despite his usual blunders and an inability to throw straight, Andy displays genuine courage. Can Andy survive dinner with a vampire? Can Hobbes recover the gold? And what is Kathy's relationship to Hobbes? This, the third in Wilkie Martin's Unhuman series of fast-paced comedy crime fantasies, will reveal all. Members Reviews: Creepy, Kooky, Mysterious and Quirky!!! Creepy, Kooky, Mysterious and Quirky!!! Hobbes and Andy are at it again! Hobbes takes a vacation to the Blacker Mountains and Andy goes with him they are going to rough it and of course, poor Andy finds himself smack dab in the middle of a murder case, falling for a smart and beautiful widow, dinner with a vampire, and struggling to maintain his space in Hobbes home! Hobbes is investigating a series of bank robberies, a reopened gold mine, ducking reporters, and dealing with Kathy, his alleged daughter who hails from America. All the while, Hobbes keeps order and keeps Andy from getting hurt too badly! The fun and action are non-stop. One cannot help but love the slapstick humor of Andy and the puns of Hobbes. Andys growth in this book is far more than previous ones; one thing is certain he is loyal and cares greatly for Hobbes, Mrs. Goodfellows, and Dregs. Wilkie Martin delivers yet another delightful book of puns, crazy slapstick humor, and new interesting and dangerous characters! Each book is better than the last, new twists and character growth. I enjoyed the first book and the second one as well but this one is even funnier and more dangerous for Andy and Hobbes than any of the others. I also find that Sid, the Vampire Banker is downright lovable! Tim Campbells performance is spot on! Each character has their own voice and personality that shines due to Campbells amazing talent. Campbell becomes each character, reflecting them and their personality accurately throughout the book. Love to hear him perform the Hobbes series. I cannot imagine another voice as Andy or Hobbes! This was a great listen - it has everything, fun, mystery, intrigue, romance and of course unhumans! There no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook. Audiobook was provided for review by the publisher. Please find this complete review and many others at my review blog. [If this review helped, please press YES. Thanks!] absolutely brilliant such deep, mysterious and wonderful characters. beautifully narrated. couldn't wish for a better listen. thank you.
