🟨🟦 GUEST RESEARCHER PROFILE- DR. NICHOLAS ADERINTO. Nicholas Aderinto, M.D. is a physician-scientist and editor whose work in stroke recovery, neurorehabilitation, and translational neuroscience has earned international recognition. He is currently pursuing a Doctoral Program at the University of Utah, where his research focuses on novel neuromodulation strategies to improve functional outcomes in stroke survivors. His work and leadership have made him one of the most visible and influential early-career neuroscientists from Africa contributing to global neurological health. Dr. Aderinto has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, including The Lancet, Nature, Current Neurology and Neuroscience Reports, Current Treatment Options in Neurology, European Journal of Medical Research, and Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery. His research has been cited more than 2,000 times, with an H-index of 24. According to Elsevier’s SciVal analytics, he ranks among the Top 500 Researchers in all subject areas in Africa (2020–2026). In 2024 and 2025, he was nominated for Wiley’s Research Hero of the Year Award, recognizing scientists whose work demonstrably impacts public health and global research visibility. Wiley also produced a documentary highlighting his contributions to neurorehabilitation in low-resource settings. Dr. Aderinto serves as Topic Editor for Frontiers in Neurology, co-leading the international special issue “Redefining Stroke Recovery: Current Trends and Recent Advances” with collaborators from Harvard, Johns Hopkins, the University of Geneva, and the University of Texas at Austin. He is also an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE.
