Creating Your Elopement Day Timeline | Things to think through as you plan out what the day of your elopement will look like

Planning an elopement? Usually if you're working with a photographer or videographer, there will be some sort of "coverage time" attached to your elopement package with them. You'll have to decide (or at least estimate) how long your elopement will be & how long you'll need that photographer/videographer. It can be a difficult question to answer, because you probably have never been involved in an elopement before. Plus, elopements aren't as cookie cutter as weddings. In this episode, our goal is to share the answers to common questions about eloping, so if you want to elope, it will be easier to get the planning started. Here are some of the questions we talk about: Can you invite guests to your elopement? How do couples hike with their wedding clothes for mountaintop elopements? Can we bring decor, flowers, champagne, etc. if we're eloping? What time of day is best to elope? Can our dogs be included? How do we make our marriage official and legal? How To Tell Your Friends & Family That You're Eloping

This is a hard topic for a lot of people to discuss with their friends and family. Some people get offended, some are hurt, some might disapprove. You might be surprised, though, that some of your friends and family will be happy for you when they hear that you're eloping. Based on our experience as elopement photographers and our conversations with couples who have eloped, we are sharing our advice about how to approach the conversation. Elopements are NOT some sort of rebellious way of saying "screw you" to the people you care about. If an elopement is the best thing for you to do on your wedding day, you shouldn't let anyone stop you from doing it. You can be gentle in how you tell people, but always be decisive. Don't let them make you second guess yourself.
