005: Can’t Relate: We watched the “Shrill” trailer but should we even watch the show? Part 1 of 2 Jay and Lil’s friend recently told them about a new show called “Shrill” on Hulu and how this show is so amazing because of how it represents big girls. Sounds interesting right? Shrill is an American Show that premiered on Hulu in April 2019. It follows a plus sized woman who is tired of the world around her treating her as if she is not good enough because of her size. After she goes to her first plus size/body positivity party, she finally starts to feel like she is just as great as everyone else. The show follows her as she tries to act on her new found self love all while juggling a career, a social life, and bad hookups. Sounds promising enough but Jay and Tigerlily’s attention span doesn’t allow for them to watch an entire show together so they watched the trailer. Would they relate to Annie? 004: JayJay’s Fair-Weather Friend Found a Man JayJay is in her feels. One of her best friends recently went MIA cause they got a new boo. She went from texting/calling Jay every day to absolutely zero communication. Needless to say, Jay is feeling some type of way about it. Fair-weather friends are the worst. You never know where you stand with them, they tend to flake on plans, they only show up when they need something. Often times though, they’re not very easy to spot. Most times, they are super fun, they’re the best to go out with, you can spend hours on the phone with them talking about nothing, and soon enough, you think you’ve found a new bff! Then all of a sudden, they disappear on you because they get a new man, or they met a cool new group, they started hanging out with a coworker, basically, something better came along. These types of friends can often cause you some stress and self doubt. They cause you to wonder where you stand, they make you wonder if you’ve done something wrong, and it’s almost hard to tell whether they are good for you or not. JayJay confides in Tigerlily about one of her friends sus behavior and finally gets to vent.
