episode #183: Blurring the Lines: When Work and Play Become One artwork
#183: Blurring the Lines: When Work and Play Become One

What if your work and play weren’t separate, but part of the same seamless flow? In this solo episode, I reflect on my recent trip to Colombia and the powerful insights it sparked about creating a life you don’t need to escape from. I share how an intentional "build week"—working on energizing projects in an inspiring environment—left me feeling more recharged than any traditional vacation ever has. Plus, I dive into the idea of showing up fully as yourself in all areas of life, avoiding the exhaustion of constantly switching roles. Tune in for reflections on travel, creation, and the art of living in alignment. ⚡ Request to join The Find The Others free WhatsApp Group for daily insights, resources, and inspiration to help fuel your journey: http://www.joshuadeanchurch.com/ftogroup 👉 Follow me on Instagram for more insights and updates: @joshuadeanchurch

#182: Harnessing Fear, Embracing Suffering, and Finding Strength with Akshay Nanavati

Akshay Nanavati has overcome drug addiction, PTSD from fighting in Iraq with the Marines (where one of his jobs was to walk in front of vehicles to find bombs), depression and alcoholism that pushed him to the brink of suicide. Since then, by embracing his demons, he has built a global business, run multiple ultramarathons, climbed mountains in the Himalayas, spent 10 days in darkness and isolation, skied 350 miles across the world’s 2nd largest icecap, and become 1 of only 26 people to ski up a remote glacier in Antarctica, where he lost 2 fingers to frostbite. Despite 4 biological defects including a blood disorder that 2 doctors told him would kill him in boot camp, he is now a sponsored athlete and is currently training for a solo, 110 day, 1700 mile, never-before-accomplished crossing of Antarctica. [http://greatsoulcrossing.com/] Combining his life experience with years of research in neuroscience, psychology and spirituality, he wrote the book “Fearvana," about which the Dalai Lama said “Fearvana inspires us to look beyond our own agonizing experiences and find the positive side of our lives.” Akshay is on a mission to help our human family explore the edges and fall in love with suffering in order to create a life of greater meaning, purpose, joy and fulfillment. #179: Developing Grit and Grace Through Challenges ft. Chad Sonkin

This is not your typical polished podcast episode. Back in November, Chad Sonkin and I hit record while both of us were in the thick of navigating the shutdown of our Edge Theory Labs as we lost both of our jobs and were forced to deal with real life consequences. What unfolds is a raw, unfiltered conversation about facing uncertainty, managing emotions, and finding resilience in real time. We dive into the tough lessons, the unexpected moments of grace, and the tools we leaned on to keep moving forward. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be in the trenches of a major life pivot, this episode offers an honest glimpse into the process—messy, challenging, and ultimately transformative—and may offer some insight as you navigate life’s inevitable transitions. ⚡ Request to Join The Find The Others free WhatsApp Group Chat for daily insights, resources, and tools to help fuel your journey: http://www.joshuadeanchurch.com/ftogroup [http://www.joshuadeanchurch.com/ftogroup]
