episode Using Human Design to Launch & Grow a Podcast cover

Using Human Design to Launch & Grow a Podcast

What happens when something feels deeply aligned… but doesn’t fully come to life until years later? In this episode, Brenda and Amanda share the unexpected story behind the Frequency of Self podcast — including why the first six episodes were recorded over two and a half years ago, then completely shelved until now. This conversation explores projector timing, splenic intuition, entrepreneurship, alignment, burnout, surrender, creative cycles, and what it really looks like to build a business and brand energetically instead of forcing outcomes. They discuss: * how Human Design shaped the evolution of the podcast * why aligned ideas don’t always unfold immediately * trusting intuitive “yeses” even when nothing happens afterward * entrepreneurship, health, fertility, burnout, and nervous system alignment * the evolution from rigid Human Design thinking into practical application * the creation of The Frequency Collective community This episode is for entrepreneurs, creatives, and Human Design explorers who are learning how to trust timing, work with their energy, and build a life and business that actually feels aligned. What You’ll Learn in This Episode * Why Brenda and Amanda shelved their podcast for over two years — and why the timing finally feels aligned now * How projector timing, splenic intuition, and surrender shaped their entrepreneurial journeys * The difference between rigid Human Design “rules” and practical real-life application * How health, nervous system regulation, business, and alignment are deeply connected * Why aligned entrepreneurship often requires trusting slower timing instead of forcing outcomes 👉 Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/LtwEPIX8mHQ [https://youtu.be/LtwEPIX8mHQ] 🔗 Start here: Download the 9 Centers Guide If you’re new to Human Design—or ready to go deeper—this is the best place to begin: https://amandahorvath.com/centers [https://amandahorvath.com/centers] Additional resources: * Get your chart: https://amandahorvath.com/mychart [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Amanda: https://amandahorvath.com [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Brenda: Energized Wellness [https://energizedwellness.net/] About the show: Frequency of Self is a space for exploring the practical application of Human Design in life, business, and relationships—so you can move through the world with more clarity, trust, and alignment. ⭐️ Enjoying the podcast? episode Human Design and Depression: Is Your Melancholy Written in Your Chart? cover

Human Design and Depression: Is Your Melancholy Written in Your Chart?

If you have individual circuitry in your human design chart, or you love someone who does, there's something important you need to understand: the melancholy isn't a problem to fix. It's a frequency to learn to work with. In this episode, Amanda and Brenda go gate by gate through the melancholy of individual circuitry — what it feels like when the creative pulse goes offline, why it can spiral into genuine depression when it goes unnamed, and what actually helps. They cover the knowing circuit, the integration circuit, and the centering circuit, sharing personal experiences with gates 60, 3, 28-38, 39-55, 12-22, 57, 43, 61, and more. This is not a clinical conversation about depression. It's a human design conversation about energy — specifically the kind of energy that makes individuals feel like something is deeply wrong with them when the pulse goes off, when the inspiration dries up, when nothing feels exciting or worth doing. Naming it doesn't cure it. But it changes your relationship to it completely. Amanda and Brenda also share a practical strategy that has made a significant difference: when individual energy goes dark, intentionally tapping into collective or tribal gates can provide relief — and they explain exactly how that works and why. This is part two of a two-part series on individual circuitry. If you haven't listened to Episode 5 yet, start there. This episode is especially relevant if you've ever experienced cycles of creative emptiness, felt the weight of gates like the 28-38 or 39-55, or struggled to explain to the people around you why you sometimes just go dark — for no apparent reason. What You’ll Learn in This Episode * Why individual circuitry in human design is wired for melancholy — and the critical difference between melancholy as a natural energy frequency and depression as what happens when you judge and resist that frequency instead of working with it * A gate-by-gate breakdown of how melancholy shows up differently — including the 60 (nowhere to go), the 28-38 (the channel of struggle, linked to the darkest lows), the 39-55 (emptiness and its connection to eating disorders), and the 12-22 (nothing worth saying and no one worth telling) * Why the pulse going off is not a sign something is wrong with you — and how understanding that your creative genius operates on a cycle you cannot control is the first step toward actually living in peace with your individual design * A practical strategy for navigating the low of the individual pulse — how intentionally shifting your attention toward your collective or tribal gates can provide real relief when individual energy goes dark * How to hold space for the individual people in your life — whether that's a partner, child, or colleague — without trying to fix them, and why simply naming the energy removes so much of the suffering around it 👉 Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5CE-SarFkk&t=31s [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5CE-SarFkk&t=31s] 🔗 Start here: Download the 9 Centers Guide If you’re new to Human Design—or ready to go deeper—this is the best place to begin: https://amandahorvath.com/centers [https://amandahorvath.com/centers] Additional resources: * Get your chart: https://amandahorvath.com/mychart [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Amanda: https://amandahorvath.com [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Brenda: Energized Wellness [https://energizedwellness.net/] About the show: Frequency of Self is a space for exploring the practical application of Human Design in life, business, and relationships—so you can move through the world with more clarity, trust, and alignment. ⭐️ Enjoying the podcast? episode Individual Circuitry in Human Design: Channels, Timing & the Freak to Genius Spectrum cover

Individual Circuitry in Human Design: Channels, Timing & the Freak to Genius Spectrum

If you've ever been called too much, too weird, or ahead of your time, there's a reason. In this episode, Amanda and Brenda do a deep dive into the individual circuit in human design: what it means to carry mutative energy, why it's misunderstood by collective and tribal types, and how learning to work with the pulse, rather than against it — changes everything. Individual circuitry is not about being better. It's about being different by design. The individual isn't here to share, teach, or serve the group the way collective and tribal types are. They're here to spark something new — and that spark either lands as genius or gets rejected as freakish, depending entirely on timing and audience. Amanda and Brenda break down each individual channel — the 43-23, 57-20, 61-24, 39-55, 12-22, 3-60, 2-14, and 1-8 — through the lens of lived experience, not textbook definitions. They explore the gifts of each channel, the conditioning they've received from collective and tribal family members, and why so many individuals spend years dimming themselves down before finally understanding what they were built to do. This is part one of two. The melancholy of individual circuitry, and what it actually looks like to live when the pulse is off, gets its own full episode next. This episode is for you if you have individual channels in your chart, live or work closely with someone who does, or have ever felt like your most authentic expression was too strange for the room. What You’ll Learn in This Episode * What individual, collective, and tribal circuits actually mean — and why understanding which one you carry (or which one the people around you carry) explains so much about friction in your relationships, family dynamics, and business * The freak-to-genius spectrum of the 43-23 — why the exact same insight can make you the most brilliant person in the room or the biggest outsider, and why the only variable is timing and audience * A channel-by-channel breakdown of individual circuitry — including the 57-20, 61-24, 39-55, 12-22, 3-60, 2-14, and 1-8 — with real stories from Amanda and Brenda's own lives and the people closest to them * Why individuals cannot control their own pulse — and why accepting that limitation, rather than fighting it, is the first step toward actually living the design * What it feels like to be conditioned by collective and tribal types — and how naming that dynamic finally makes sense of a lifetime of feeling like your natural way of moving through the world was somehow wrong 👉 Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/wmmTO7xRgYk 🔗 Start here: Download the 9 Centers Guide If you’re new to Human Design—or ready to go deeper—this is the best place to begin: The Nine Centers Guide [https://amandahorvath.com/centers] Additional resources: * Get your chart: Get My Chart [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Amanda: https://amandahorvath.com [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Brenda: Energized Wellness [https://energizedwellness.net/] About the show: Frequency of Self is a space for exploring the practical application of Human Design in life, business, and relationships—so you can move through the world with more clarity, trust, and alignment. ⭐️ Enjoying the podcast? episode Human Design & Ayahuasca: Plant Medicine, Nervous System & Embodiment cover

Human Design & Ayahuasca: Plant Medicine, Nervous System & Embodiment

Plant medicine and Human Design both point to the same truth: real transformation doesn’t happen in the mind, it happens in the body. In this episode, we share our personal experiences with ayahuasca and explore how plant medicine intersects with Human Design, the nervous system, and somatic healing. We break down what ayahuasca is, what happens in a ceremony, and why surrender, not control, is the key to transformation. We also dive into the importance of integration, how the body holds emotional patterns, and why true change comes from learning to regulate your nervous system and stay present with what arises. This is not about promoting plant medicine, but about understanding how embodiment, awareness, and nervous system regulation create lasting change, whether through Human Design, therapy, or other modalities. If you’ve been doing the inner work but still feel stuck in patterns, this episode will give you a deeper perspective on what it actually takes to shift. What You’ll Learn in This Episode * What ayahuasca is and how plant medicine ceremonies work * Why surrender vs control is the core of transformation (in both plant medicine and life) * How the nervous system drives your patterns, emotions, and decisions * Why integration—not the experience itself—is where real change happens * How embodiment connects Human Design knowledge to real-life transformation 👉 Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d7TCx1mKkI 🔗 Start here: Download the 9 Centers Guide If you’re new to Human Design—or ready to go deeper—this is the best place to begin: The Nine Centers Guide [https://amandahorvath.com/centers] Additional resources: * Get your chart: Get My Chart [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Amanda: https://amandahorvath.com [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Brenda: Energized Wellness [https://energizedwellness.net/] About the show: Frequency of Self is a space for exploring the practical application of Human Design in life, business, and relationships—so you can move through the world with more clarity, trust, and alignment. ⭐️ Enjoying the podcast? episode Human Design: Undefined vs Defined Centers, Transits & Not-Self vs Wisdom cover

Human Design: Undefined vs Defined Centers, Transits & Not-Self vs Wisdom

Human Design is often taught in black-and-white terms—but real-life application is far more nuanced. In this episode, we explore the gray area between “not-self” and true wisdom, and how to actually interpret your experiences within Human Design. We break down the difference between defined and undefined centers, how transits temporarily change your energy, and why your behavior isn’t always as fixed as you’ve been taught. Using real-life examples—including the throat, solar plexus, and ego centers—we discuss how to recognize when you’re operating from conditioning versus when you’re gaining wisdom through experience. If you’ve ever felt confused about whether you’re in alignment or not, this episode will help you understand the deeper layers of your design and how to navigate them in a practical way. What You’ll Learn in This Episode * The difference between “not-self” and true wisdom in Human Design (and why it’s not black-and-white) * How defined vs undefined centers actually function in real life * How transits temporarily change your energy and behavior * When to trust what you’re experiencing vs when it’s conditioning * Real examples of throat, solar plexus, and ego centers in action 👉 Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ZvZu_4YQGgM?si=hjhtsPtUMEDBl8Pi [https://youtu.be/ZvZu_4YQGgM?si=hjhtsPtUMEDBl8Pi] 🔗 Start here: Download the 9 Centers Guide If you’re new to Human Design—or ready to go deeper—this is the best place to begin: https://amandahorvath.com/centers [https://amandahorvath.com/centers] Additional resources: * Get your chart: https://amandahorvath.com/mychart [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Amanda: https://amandahorvath.com [https://amandahorvath.com/mychart] * Work with Brenda: Energized Wellness [https://energizedwellness.net/] About the show: Frequency of Self is a space for exploring the practical application of Human Design in life, business, and relationships—so you can move through the world with more clarity, trust, and alignment. ⭐️ Enjoying the podcast?
