episode Vanishing Act In Vegas Audiobook by Morgan St. James, Phyllice Bradner cover

Vanishing Act In Vegas Audiobook by Morgan St. James, Phyllice Bradner

Listen to this audiobook in full for free on http://hotaudiobook.com [http://hotaudiobook.com] Title: Vanishing Act In Vegas Subtitle: Silver Sisters, 3 Author: Morgan St. James, Phyllice Bradner Narrator: Andrea Bates Format: Unabridged Length: 8 hrs and 10 mins Language: English Release date: 12-22-17 Publisher: Books In Motion Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: A fun-filled Silver Sisters escapade in "Sin City"... After Godiva's son Torch buys a condo in Las Vegas, his grandmother Flossie and great uncle Sterling decide to pay him a visit. When the old vaudeville magicians drag him to the Pageant of Peacocks starring sexy Mara the Magnificent, it's love at first sight. The romance blossoms, but when Torch returns from a meeting in LA, Mara seems cold and distant. Torch turns to his mother, the advice columnist, for a helping hand. Godiva agrees to check things out during her upcoming trip to Vegas, when she joins her twin sister, Goldie, at a big antique expo. Flossie and Sterling tag along for a second trip to sin city. The family gets a shock while attending Mara's show, where a stagehand dies during the performance. Police call it accidental, but Mara is convinced its murder. Torch told her about his family's uncanny ability to solve mysteries, so she begs them to investigate the death of her friend. They start to poke around in their clever but kooky fashion and uncover an even bigger mystery. This time Flossie and Sterling take the lead, and when they uncover a diabolical plot they come close to doing a disappearing act of their own! Twists, turns, murder and mayhem. Just when you think you've solved it, something else happens. Members Reviews: Murder, She Wrote meets The Borscht Belt Good news, bad news. The Good: This is a fun story, the Silver Family is almost impossible to dislike. Grandma Flossie and Great Uncle Sterling - two thirds of the once famous magic act The Scintillating Silvers - have that old fashioned vaudeville sensibility that makes for great screwball comedy. Twin sisters Goldie and Godiva are flamboyant and quirky in their own right - which makes it all the better when they try to be "the voice of reason" to the elders. Bad News: The mystery aspect of this story isn't very good. To put it in the vernacular of The Scintillating Silvers, "It's a flop." Not very original and really not even all that interesting. Thankfully, it's a relatively small part of the overall story - mostly an excuse to have the family descend on Vegas and go through their shtick. If you're in the mood for a good mystery this isn't it, but if you want to read a fun story about a quirky, oddball family of amateur sleuths running around Las Vegas then you might enjoy this book. This book is suitable for all readers. There is no graphic violence, explicit sex or strong language. Vanishing Act in Vegas I thought this book looked like I fun read when I wanted to win this book in the giveaway. This book did not let me down. I enjoyed the characters and had a great time reading this book. I would read more books in this series. * I received this book from a LibraryThing giveaway in exchange for an honest review* Laughs and Murder I love the Silver sisters and their Jewish mother, Flossie and Uncle Sterling. A wackier group of characters you will not find elsewhere. This time the sisters are off to Las Vegas to commenorate Godiva's late husband's wheel of fortune spin that made him into a multimillionaire and left Godiva a very rich widow. Of course, with retired magicians Flossie and Sterling along, and Godiva's son, Torch, now living in Vegas, the antics are plentiful and the twists and turns of the story are many. Torch has a new love in his life, who suddenly disappears.

episode Girl: Repurposed Audiobook by Meaghan Curley cover

Girl: Repurposed Audiobook by Meaghan Curley

Listen to this audiobook in full for free on http://hotaudiobook.com [http://hotaudiobook.com] Title: Girl: Repurposed Author: Meaghan Curley Narrator: Dani George Format: Unabridged Length: 8 hrs and 12 mins Language: English Release date: 11-17-17 Publisher: Cosmic Teapot Publishing Genres: Fiction, Humor Publisher's Summary: Tranquila Obiit is smart enough to save a stranger's life. But when Tran's salty, daytime television-addicted grandmother tricks her into selling her soul to Hades, dodging near-death experiences becomes a daily ritual. Now, as an employee of the Underworld, Tranquila seeks out her purpose in life while pet-sitting a three-headed dog that is hell-bent on destroying her. She's not alone. None of the Gods are any better off: Hades is battling negative Hollywood stereotypes. Persephone is trying to overcome her jealousy issues. Most importantly, Hera is trying to gain control of a domain that isn't hers. Will their insanity be Tranquila's demise? Girl: Repurposed is a refreshing satire on the American Dream that'll keep readers laughing all the way to the Underworld. Members Reviews: Like a syntactic anastrophe from the Greek expression Girl-Repurposed By Meaghan Curley is a comedy, verging on satire. A nuanced narrative depicting many layers of social hypocrisy, and stupidity hidden within the gyres of hilarity and wit. Like a syntactic anastrophe from the Greek expression, "to turn back", a complete inversion in the pantheon behaviour has occurred. Mediated through entertaining bathos if you like, holds nothing but the truth of absurdity. This book will catch the readers imagination, and fill it up with comic relief for days on end. Greek mythology, particularly Hades, the god of death, has never been invoked, the way it has been invoked through Meaghan's muses. The gods, in element whose antics are described within the pages of such well crafted words. Hilarious and insightful! This novel was a delight from start to finish! Greek mythology is flawlessly embedded into a thoroughly modern narrative with memorable characters and a creative, well paced plot. It's also funny as hell (no pun intended). The author taps into relatable frustrations, from the injustices and daily aggravations of the workplace, to larger societal problems, to trying to find a purpose through it all; and sweeps away the gloom with a witty sense of humor. I hope to read more from this author soon! There's a laugh on almost every page A very imaginative and funny book, in which a modern 'goth girl' finds her purpose working in Hades. Meaghan finds the humor both in everyday situations, and in the surreal scenes in the underworld. Her keen observational style serves her well, and she has a great future ahead of her. ) i really like her style of writing and the story is very ... iâm 1/4 of the way through and i can already give 5 stars :) i really like her style of writing and the story is very interesting Trapped Five Amazing Stars I was asked to do an ARC for this book Five Winning Stars I was just completely thrilled to receive this exciting, emotional and intriguing novel produced. I was so keen to enjoy the complete excitement and fury of this amazing book. Written by Meaghan Curley. Such a fabulous book, one that I thoroughly did enjoy so much!! Tranquila had only just arrived at home. Where she had meet up with her Grandma Sobriquet. who immediately asked her so many questions. Tranquila, why are you home and why are you not work yet? This poor young girl pleaded to her Grandma. Tranquila's Grandma seemed to be the oldest most strictest French woman around. She would never stop claiming about her poor granddaughter. I felt just to terrorised by the damn woman completely.
