30. Depression Isn't Always Obvious in Midlife
What if I told you that depression doesn't always look the way we think it does?
Sometimes it doesn't look like falling apart.
Sometimes it looks like showing up.
Going to work.
Taking care of your family.
Meeting deadlines.
Keeping all the balls in the air.
And yet, somewhere along the way, you stop feeling like yourself.
In this week's episode of Her Next Chapter, I'm sharing a very personal part of my story and opening up about my own experience with depression.
There was a season in my life when I was doing all the things—a working mom, a wife, a friend, a professional—and from the outside everything looked fine. But on the inside, I felt disconnected, exhausted, and lost. I wasn't falling apart. I was just existing.
If you've ever found yourself wondering why you feel so flat, unmotivated, or emotionally checked out despite having so much to be grateful for, this conversation is for you.
Together we'll talk about the quiet signs of depression, why so many women minimize their pain, and why healing begins the moment we stop pretending we're okay and start being honest about what we're carrying.
In this episode, we'll chat about:
✨ What depression can really look like in high-achieving women
✨ Why "I'm fine" isn't always the full story
✨ The difference between surviving and truly living
✨ How burnout, emotional exhaustion, and depression can overlap
✨ Why honoring your pain is the first step toward healing
✨ Practical ways to reconnect with yourself and your emotional well-being
Most importantly, I want you to know this:
You don't have to earn support.
You don't have to wait until things get worse.
And you don't have to carry everything by yourself.
💛 If this episode resonates with you and you're ready to do the deeper work of healing burnout, rebuilding self-trust, and creating a life that feels peaceful and aligned, I'd love to support you. Check out the show notes below to learn more about working with me privately.
And please share this episode with a friend. Chances are, someone you love is carrying more than they're letting on.
