Behind the Scenes with Paula Sadler Visionary Leader & Founder of Commercial Center Business Association & Historic Society. Interview by Kai with UNLV Film Department for a Commercial Center Documentary that premiered at the Composers room on June 5th. Commercial Center Re-imagined. This is a capitiating and informative from the Heart Interview given by Sadler of her 20 years in businness at The Historic Commercial Center District-one of the longest operating businesses aside from The Cue Club 1964, Violin Outlet 1984, & John Fish Jewelers 1976 (opened in Las Vegas 1955).  Her Interview did not make it into the Documentary due to her opposition to Abusive Redevelopment and Concerns of Eminent Domain and her 20 plus years watchdog reporting and advocay for the small business owners of Commercial Center and historic Preservation. In the Documentary which was inspired by the Full Length 60 year Expose Sadler has undertaken, you will see much of her work in the area, businesses that were attracted to the area under the leadership of Paula's work, and various Artwork, & community beautifications can be see throughout the documentary Thank you to UNLV Film, Kai, Brett and the Entire Team were outstanding and put togehter a masterful project within the boundries they had to work with from the County. Paula shares her experience of the past with lack of assistance from The County, and having to forge ahead creating a small business associaiton, neighhorhood watch, brining the first Murals to the Area in an Outdoor Art Project, installing a neighborhood watch and security, many events, and a entire rebranding of Commercial Center Once again Her Voice shines through as a beacon of hope, wisdom and light that cannot be silenced as big developers and big government has tried to do over and over.  Become a community leader, learn from Paula how to have the faith of a mustard seed when all seems lost. Interview with Charli Carter-Interview With Charli Carter-Customer of Commercial Center-Longtime Customer & Las Vegas Resident share her Commercial Center Experiences. Moved to Vegas in 1952. As a young couple she and her husband purchased Christmas Trees for $1.99 at VonTobels, Later in years she would get the Best Ham sandwiches at Von Tobels Counter. She remembers it as the hot spot. Across the street There would be a disc jockey across the street that would broadcast from the Roof for Days. She dined at State Street Gianni Russo, Ice Skating Lessons at the Ice Palace, and Husband played Ice Hockey. She attended Repour Institute-Seminars for Self-Confidence at The Carriage Trade Center. She bought her wedding Dress and Wedding hat at great boutique-and still has her Hat & Dress. While attending Las Vegas High School she shared about an amazing soup restaurant-could have been Dinty Moores, The Wharf, or the Soup Ketttle. She says it was sad to see the Center go through hard times. But now she is excited to try all the Restaurants. She has tried several and excited about the changes. She says Perfect Location and she see great things it the future for Commercial Center. She would like to see the County help with Homeless in the area to get help. She says it can become a destination spot once again. Homelessness is a growing problem in Urban and Downtown Areas that needs to be addressed. She says she feels safe, even though there are some homeless in the area.
