011. CHARITY - "We put others before ourselves"

Charity. We put others before ourselves. Simple to say. Extremely hard to live. In this final episode of the values miniseries I am talking about what charity actually looks like in a real home with real kids — and I am going to be honest about the places where it gets complicated. Like sharing. Because sharing is one of those topics where you find out really fast how differently moms see things. And I have thoughts. I talk about how I handle sharing with my twins, why I do not force my kids to hand over a toy mid-play, and what I actually say when one of them wants something the other has. It is not what you think. And it works in my house. I also want to talk to the mom who is depleted. The one who gives and gives and gives and is starting to wonder if anyone is ever going to pour back into her. I see you. And I want to give you permission to put down some of the plates you are spinning without feeling like you are failing your family. Charity is not doing everything perfectly. It is showing up and working heartily unto the Lord — not for man. Not to look good. Not to keep up. For the Lord. This one is warm. It is honest. And it is the last value. Which means next week we are moving into something new. If you want the full framework behind the rules and values I have been teaching in this series — the correction rhythm, the family script, the roadmap for your home — it is all inside The Obedient Home. https://stan.store/emilyjwaits/p/obedience-begins-at-home [https://stan.store/emilyjwaits/p/obedience-begins-at-home] Thank you for walking through this miniseries with me. I am so glad you are here.

episode 010. HUMILITY - "We submit to God's will, not our own." cover

010. HUMILITY - "We submit to God's will, not our own."

Humility. We submit to God's will and not our own. But here is the thing, before your children can submit to God's will they have to know him. Before they can trust him they have to have met him. And that starts with you opening your Bible with them every single day. In this episode I am talking about what humility actually looks like in a real home with real kids. We talk about scripture memory, catechism, family Bible time, and what it looks like to weave God's character into the ordinary rhythms of your day — even on the hard days when your husband has been working 70 hours a week for five months and you are doing it mostly alone. I also want to talk about balance. Because I see two ditches on this road and both of them are dangerous. The legalistic home that made Jesus all wrath and no grace. And the gentle parenting home that made Jesus all grace and no wrath. Neither one is the full picture. And your children need the full picture. We talk about how to teach your children the sovereignty of God in a way that builds trust not fear. How to memorize scripture with toddlers who cannot say the words clearly yet. And why submitting to God's will starts with the mom first. This one ran long. It always does when I love the topic. I hope you stay until the end. If you want the rules, values, and full framework I reference throughout this episode it is all inside The Obedient Home. https://stan.store/emilyjwaits/p/obedience-begins-at-home [https://stan.store/emilyjwaits/p/obedience-begins-at-home]

episode 009. COURAGE - "We are brave and stand up for what is true" cover

009. COURAGE - "We are brave and stand up for what is true"

Courage and fortitude might sound like the same thing. They are not. And in this episode I am telling you exactly why. Courage is about truth. Standing up for it. Teaching your children to know it, love it, and defend it in a world that is actively lying to them. We are brave and we stand up for what is true. That is our family saying. And in this episode I get very real about what that actually means to raise children who will stand firm in the faith when the world tells them not to. I talk about how courage does not come naturally, why loving someone and telling them the truth are not opposites, and how the hard work you are doing right now in the toddler years is forming the child who will one day sit across from a college professor and know exactly what they believe and why. This episode is real, unfiltered, and a little chaotic. The baby woke up halfway through. Welcome to my life. Scripture referenced: 1 Corinthians 16:13 — Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Ready to build a home culture rooted in truth and biblical obedience? episode 008. FORTITUDE - "We can show fortitude by having he strength to endure and do hard things" cover

008. FORTITUDE - "We can show fortitude by having he strength to endure and do hard things"

Fortitude is the value I say more than any other in my home. And in this episode I am telling you exactly why. Whether your child’s hardest thing is unloading the dishwasher or walking through something that is shattering your family — fortitude is for every home and every season. I talk about how I teach it in real life, why you should never minimize what is hard for your child, and how to use every hard moment as a discipleship opportunity. This one is real and it goes deep. I think you need to hear it. Scripture referenced: James 1:2-4 Galatians 6:9 Ready to build a home culture rooted in biblical obedience? Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
