Journey Through The Code - Specializing vs. Generalizing as a Programmer

In this episode, I share my thoughts on what my intuition is telling me about specializing vs. generalizing as a programmer. When first starting out, it may be very confusing as to whether or not you should learn a lot about a certain area of programming OR learn a general amount about a lot of areas of programming.  Since I am in the process of both becoming an iOS developer and starting an indie game studio, I have been living and breathing the Apple ecosystem for the past 12 months. During this time, I have been building an iOS game with SpriteKit and working on a pothole reporting app that uses Google Firebase.  Everyone's journey is different, and I am just here to share my process with you and hopefully help you out a bit along the way. Thank you for listening to my thoughts, I hope I can help you decide for yourself as to whether you want to generalize or specialize as a programmer.  ---  Also, I've recently launched a new blog - and you can start reading today by heading to journeythroughthecode.com. ALSO - you can listen to the Journey Through the Code show in audio format! Check it out wherever you listen to podcasts! A Journey Update - Game Dev and Bee Talk

In this episode, I give you an update on what I've been working on for the past 11 months and explain to you the re-shaping of Journey Through the Code. I've decided to start building video games and use this as the driving force for bee repopulation and restabilization. My wife and I will be starting a game development company next year and we've got five games planned for development.  Also, I've recently launched a new blog - and you can start reading today by heading to journeythroughthecode.com. Journey Through the Code - Why Do You Want to Be a Programmer?

There are MANY reasons one may want to become a programmer. In this episode, I explain some reasons form my own experience as to why I wanted to become a programmer. I'll also share some general ideas as to why someone may want to learn how to code, build software and become a programmer themselves.  Thank you for checking out the podcast! - Music by Chillhop: http://chillhop.com/listen Kupla - Nowhere Else: http://soundcloud.com/kuplasound Listen on Spotify: http://bit.ly/ChillhopSpotify Connect with me: Twitter: https://twitter.com/andrewlundydev Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/andrewlundydev Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/andrewlundy... episode A Logically Positive Mindset artwork

A Logically Positive Mindset

Having a positive mindset works just like a boolean! A boolean can either be true or false and usually starts out with a default value in a program. In the same way, a human mind can either be positive or negative and most people have a default mindset in which they operate.  In this episode, I explain some ways that I've learned to be consistently positive and how being positive today will create a positive future. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
