episode Rethinking Purity Culture & Why We Stopped Kissing cover

Rethinking Purity Culture & Why We Stopped Kissing

In this episode of Life to the Full, we talk about purity culture and what it got wrong about Christian dating and relationships. This conversation is for couples in high school, college, post-grad, and engagement who want a healthier, biblical view of love and boundaries. Purity Culture vs. Biblical Purity Purity culture often: Linked sexual behavior to identity and worth Focused on fear, shame, and rules Framed marriage as a reward for self-control A better vision of purity is: Integrity, wholeness, and rightly ordered love Becoming someone who loves well, not just avoiding sin Living in closer relationship with Christ Key verse: Hebrews 13:4 Why We Stopped Kissing We share our personal decision to stop kissing while dating: What it led to emotionally and physically Why was it not helping us love each other well Kissing is not a sin, but wisdom asks what leads you toward or away from holiness. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:18 Colossians 3:5 Galatians 5:19–21 Dating With Purpose No matter your stage, this episode will help you: * Set intentional boundaries * Think beyond rules and focus on wisdom * Build a Christ-centered relationship At the end of this episode, we share that we are pausing the podcast for the foreseeable future. We are beyond grateful for you and the gift it has been to gather around the table, talk through hard topics, and serve young couples who are walking with the Lord. This was a hard decision to step away, but we believe the Lord has used each episode and conversation in a beautiful way and that He will continue to use it. We hope you experience life to the full! John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." Thank YOU for joining us at the table these last two seasons. episode Our Biggest Wedding Regrets cover

Our Biggest Wedding Regrets

We got married at 20 with a tight budget and a lot of hope. Our wedding was beautiful, meaningful, and full of joy, but there are a few things we would do differently if we could go back. In this episode, we are sharing our biggest wedding regrets to help you plan a day that feels peaceful, intentional, and rooted in what truly matters. If you are a young Christian couple navigating engagement, trying to honor God, your families, and your budget, this conversation is for you. We planned our entire wedding for under $8,000, and while we are grateful, we learned some hard lessons along the way. In this episode, we talk about: Not hiring a professional day of coordinator and how that decision shaped the entire flow of our wedding day Why having two locations added unexpected stress and complications The reality of an outdoor summer wedding and what we wish we had considered How a lack of a clear timeline created confusion for us and our guests The importance of assigning setup and teardown responsibilities to the right people Why we ended up with way too much cake and what we would do instead How not having a designated MC or point person affected the structure of our reception Kaia’s dress experience and what we learned about expectations versus reality This episode is not about regret for the sake of regret. It is about wisdom, stewardship, and helping you build a wedding day that reflects your values and sets the tone for your marriage. For engaged couples asking: How can we plan a meaningful wedding on a budget What are common wedding mistakes young couples make How do we keep our wedding day stress free and Christ centered We hope our story helps you walk into your wedding day with clarity, peace, and intention. Takeaways: Focus on your marriage more than your wedding Delegate more than you think you need to Plan for weather, timing, and transitions Keep your expectations flexible and your priorities grounded in faith If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who is planning a wedding or preparing for engagement. Your wedding is one day. Your marriage is a lifetime. Let’s build it well. We would appreciate it if you left a review & followed us at @lifetothefullpod on Instagram for episode updates!

How We Afforded Our Wedding at 19 (Under $8K)

Today on Life to the Full, we’re inviting you into our engagement season — a time filled with excitement, stretching, decisions, and learning how to truly become a team. We got married at 19 and planned our wedding in just 8 months… with a budget of $8,000. And while the numbers matter (and yes, we’re sharing all of them), what mattered even more was who we were becoming in the process. This episode is part practical, part personal — the kind of conversation we wish we could’ve had with someone who had gone before us. – What it looked like to plan a beautiful, intentional wedding on a tight budget – Our full $8K wedding breakdown — where we saved and where we chose to spend – The DIY details that made it personal (and affordable) – How we planned everything in 8 months without losing sight of what mattered – The logistics behind the day — timelines, decisions, and simplifying the process – Navigating expectations while staying true to what felt right for us – And the heart behind it all: how we stayed connected, grounded, and Christ-centered during engagement We believe your wedding is just the beginning. At Life to the Full, our heart is to encourage couples to build healthy, God-honoring relationships — ones rooted in intention, communication, and faith. Whether you’re dating, engaged, or newly married, we hope this conversation reminds you that you don’t have to do this season perfectly — just together. For Those Planning a Wedding: If you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s meaningful, beautiful, and financially wise — this episode will give you both the practical tools and the perspective to get there. Budget wedding tips, DIY ideas, engagement advice, and real-life logistics — it’s all here. Coming Next Week… Next week, we’re sitting back down and sharing something a little more vulnerable — our biggest wedding regrets. The things we’d change, what didn’t matter as much as we thought, and what we’d do differently if we could do it again. Join Us at the Table: If this episode encouraged you, would you take a minute to follow the podcast and leave a review? It helps more couples find Life to the Full and be part of these conversations. episode The In-Law Conversation You Shouldn't Avoid cover

The In-Law Conversation You Shouldn't Avoid

This week on Life to the Full, we’re sitting down to talk about one of the most important (and sometimes challenging) parts of marriage: navigating relationships with in-laws. Whether you’re dating, engaged, or newly married, this conversation is for anyone learning how to build a strong, God-centered marriage while still honoring family well. We’re diving into what it really means to “leave and cleave,” how to communicate with wisdom and unity, and how to set healthy, life-giving boundaries that protect your marriage. At the heart of it all, we believe this: your marriage is worth protecting, nurturing, and prioritizing. In This Episode, We Talk About: * What “leave and cleave” actually looks like in modern relationships * Building independence from your parents in a healthy, honoring way * Why your spouse becomes your first priority after marriage * The importance of financial separation and unity as a couple * How to communicate with in-laws with clarity and respect * Why the son or daughter should take the lead in difficult conversations * Setting healthy boundaries without guilt or tension * Navigating holidays and family expectations as a married couple * Deciding how often to visit family and what rhythms work best for you * Protecting your peace by setting boundaries around sensitive topics Scripture for This Episode: Matthew 19:5“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” A Thought to Take With You: Healthy boundaries don’t push people away—they create space for your marriage to grow strong. When you and your spouse are united, everything else finds its proper place. For Couples in This Season: If you’ve ever felt tension, pressure, or confusion when it comes to in-laws, you’re not alone. These conversations matter because they shape the foundation of your marriage for years to come. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s unity. Let’s Stay Connected: If this episode encouraged you, would you share it with your significant other or a couple you love? And if you haven’t already, leaving a review is one of the best ways to help our podcast reach more young couples navigating dating, engagement, and marriage. We’re so grateful you joined us at the table today. We’ll see you next week. Follow @lifetothefullpod @kaiammaginel @aaronmaginel
