episode Grand Isle Snapper, Venice Bull Reds, and Summer Fishing Taking Off cover

Grand Isle Snapper, Venice Bull Reds, and Summer Fishing Taking Off

On this week’s episode, host Andre’ Savoie covers two strong Louisiana fishing reports from Grand Isle and Venice as late-May and early-summer patterns take shape across the Delta. The episode features Capt. T Wagoner of Geaux Fishing Charters [https://www.geauxfishing.co/], who breaks down a strong Grand Isle red snapper season opener, a hot speckled trout bite, and mixed-bag offshore and nearshore action, followed by Capt. Louis “Rok” Rossignol of Venice Guide Service [https://veniceguideservice.com/], who shares a Venice report focused on bull reds, falling tides, clean water, grass beds, triple tail, red snapper, and how anglers can work around rough spring weather. Capt. T Wagoner of Geaux Fishing Charters [https://www.geauxfishing.co/] says Grand Isle is seeing big numbers of red snapper with strong early-season action and quick limits on the right trips. He explains how his crew uses efficient bottom-fishing setups with bank weights, three-way swivels, strong hooks, and smaller baits for snapper, triggerfish, vermilion snapper, mangrove snapper, sheepshead, and other mixed-bag species. He also reports that the speckled trout bite is on fire, with shrimp showing up, big trout being caught, and the best action coming around moving, clean water, rock structure, oyster beds, and areas with bait rather than chasing birds. Capt. Louis “Rok” Rossignol of Venice Guide Service [https://veniceguideservice.com/] reports a strong bull redfish bite around Venice, including a memorable trip where three generations hooked three bull reds at the same time around a small island with moving water. He explains why current, clean water, falling tides, and precise casts around points, islands, cuts, and grass edges are key to finding redfish right now. Rock also talks about growing grass beds, high water challenges, triple tail around rigs, rough red snapper conditions, popping cork selection, 50-pound PowerPro Super Slick, and how he uses radar and experience to dodge weather while still putting customers on fish. episode Venice Tuna, Hopedale Reds, and Louisiana Snapper Season Heating Up cover

Venice Tuna, Hopedale Reds, and Louisiana Snapper Season Heating Up

On this week's episode, host Andre’ Savoie covers two strong Louisiana fishing reports from the marshes around Hopedale and Delacroix down to the offshore grounds out of Venice. The episode features Capt. Jimmy Corley [https://www.facebook.com/Waterfowlspecialistguideservice/] of Waterfowl Specialist [https://waterfowlspecialist.com/], who breaks down a hot redfish bite and improving trout action around Shell Beach, Hopedale, Delacroix, Breton Sound, and Lake Borgne, followed by Capt. Josh Edwards [https://www.instagram.com/jedwards723/] of Calcutta Gold Fishing Charters [https://www.calcuttagoldfishing.com/], who shares a Venice offshore report focused on yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, red snapper, mahi, and what anglers can expect as summer patterns build. Capt. Jimmy Corley of Waterfowl Specialist says wind has been the biggest factor, pushing many trips into protected Delacroix marshes where redfish are holding around grass lines, bait, and shallow ponds. When the wind lays down, he expects trout to stay strong around deeper water, rigs, flow pipes, Lake Borgne, Breton Sound, the MRGO rocks, and areas with birds and bait. He also mentions Zook Rods, popping corks, live shrimp from Campo’s, Matrix Shad, and Vudu-style baits. Capt. Josh Edwards of Calcutta Gold Fishing Charters reports a solid Venice offshore bite with yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, and excellent red snapper action. Tuna have been mostly in the 30- to 40-mile range, with yellowfin around 50 to 60 pounds and blackfin around 15 to 25 pounds. He also says small mahi are showing around grass lines, better fish should arrive soon, and snapper numbers remain strong around rigs, mud humps, and state-water structure. episode Cocodrie Trout, Venice Snapper, And A Red-Hot Spring Bite cover

Cocodrie Trout, Venice Snapper, And A Red-Hot Spring Bite

On this episode of the Louisiana Delta Fishing Report, host Andre’ Savoie covers two strong spring fishing reports from different parts of Southeast Louisiana. The episode features Capt. Aaron Benfield [https://www.facebook.com/aaron.benfield.9] of A B Charters Cocodrie [https://abcharterscocodrie.com/], who breaks down an excellent Cocodrie trout and redfish bite, followed by Capt. Jace Oulliber [https://www.facebook.com/jace.oulliber] of Off The Grid Charter Co. [https://www.offthegridcharterco.com/], who shares a Venice report focused on speckled trout, red snapper, redfish, and triple tail. Capt. Aaron Benfield of A B Charters Cocodrie explains why Cocodrie has been fishing so well this spring. He has been finding excellent speckled trout action around the outer bays, islands, beaches, and nearby rigs when the wind allows, with shorter runs than many Louisiana trout fisheries require. Aaron says the trout bite has been outstanding over the past month, especially compared to last year, and he expects the action to stay strong as calmer weather windows open up. He also talks about the improving redfish bite, bull red opportunities in the fall, and springtime surprises like sheepshead, mangroves, and even cobia around nearshore rigs. Capt. Jace Oulliber of Off The Grid Charter Co. checks in from Venice, where the speckled trout bite has been one of the better spring bites in the last few years. Jace has been fishing areas like the east side of the Mississippi River, Breton Island, and Breton Sound when the wind allows, and he says trout have been strong on both sides of the river. With Louisiana red snapper season now open, he is also adding snapper to the box when conditions are calm enough, especially around rigs in 40 feet of water or more early in the season. He also notes that redfish have been tougher recently because of the tide phase, but he expects that bite to improve soon, while triple tail are also starting to show up when the weather allows. episode Lake Pontchartrain Trout Turn On And A Venice Fishing Trip That Changed Plans cover

Lake Pontchartrain Trout Turn On And A Venice Fishing Trip That Changed Plans

On this episode of the Louisiana Delta Fishing Report, host Andre’ Savoie covers two very different spring fishing reports from Southeast Louisiana. The episode features Capt. Danny Hunter [https://www.facebook.com/Dhunter1231] of New Orleans Best Charters [https://neworleansbestcharters.com/], who shares a hot Lake Pontchartrain Basin trout report, followed by Andre’s own Venice trip recap, where a rough snapper plan turned into a memorable mixed-bag day of redfish, sheepshead, puppy drum, and big bull reds. Capt. Danny Hunter of New Orleans Best Charters has been finding excellent speckled trout action around the Lake Pontchartrain Basin, including the Slidell bridges, Lake Catherine, Lake Borgne, the MRGO, and Biloxi Marsh. After dealing with rough spring weather, Danny says the bite turned on quickly, with several strong trips producing limits and quality trout. He explains that the shrimp are starting to move in, birds are beginning to work, and the trout fishing should continue to improve as bait pushes farther into the system. Andre then recaps a family trip to Venice that started with plans to target red snapper after the May 1 opener. Windy conditions made the Gulf uncomfortable, so the trip shifted from snapper and triple tail to protected water on the east side of the river. That backup plan produced redfish in ponds, big bull reds around moving water, sheepshead and puppy drum near the South Pass rocks, and a reminder that Venice offers more options than almost anywhere else when weather forces anglers to adjust. episode Lake Pontchartrain Trout And Hopedale Marsh Reds Are Heating Up cover

Lake Pontchartrain Trout And Hopedale Marsh Reds Are Heating Up

On this episode of the Louisiana Delta Fishing Report, host Andre’ Savoie checks in with Capt. Mike Gallo of Angling Adventures of Louisiana [https://aaofla.com/] for a Lake Pontchartrain and Biloxi Marsh report, then heads toward Hopedale and Shell Beach with Capt. Chris Faler of Southern Outdoor Bowfishing [https://southernoutdoorbowfishing.com/]. The episode highlights a late-spring bite that is shifting toward early summer, with strong bridge trout action, steady marsh redfish, bowfishing opportunities, and big alligator gar showing up after dark. Capt. Mike Gallo breaks down what he is seeing around Slidell, the Rigolets, Lake Pontchartrain, and the Biloxi Marsh. He shares a recent redfish trip with visitors from Arizona, where a windy day still produced a solid box of slot reds after a quick move away from catfish. Mike also explains how the Lake Pontchartrain bridge trout bite is shaping up, with good numbers of 19- to 21-inch trout and some larger fish showing around the train bridge, Highway 11, the Twin Span, and other structure. He gets into the importance of fishing early, staying quiet around pressured bridge fish, adjusting to tide direction, and changing sinker weights to match how the current is moving the bait. Capt. Chris Faler gives a Hopedale and Shell Beach-area report from the bowfishing side, where the nighttime view of the marsh is showing healthy grass, plenty of redfish, and big alligator gar opportunities. He explains why recent rain did not ruin a late-night trip, how redfish are using points, choke points, and moving water as grass fills in, and why bowfishing can help anglers understand marsh structure in a way daytime rod-and-reel fishing often cannot. Chris also shares that trout are starting to turn on around rocks and oyster beds, with cork rigs and good tide movement becoming key as the area moves deeper into the late-spring pattern.
