Arguably the greatest rapper of all time, but unarguably the most notorious in history; Tupac Shakur was a paradox, surrounded by controversy and adored by millions. Defined by his many faces, he was a poet, an actor, a musician, an activist, a thug, a genius, and ultimately a martyr in one of the great unsolved murders of our time. He was at the tail end of an era when musicians were consumed by their influence. So many of the greatest artists seem to die in their twenties, and there's a reason for that.

Every generation is defined by something unique; an invention, a fashion trend, a war, walking 17 miles to school in the snow. On the surface it seems like our cohort is destined to be defined by skinny jeans and student debt. But there's more to it than that. By sheer luck we actually belong to a very exclusive club. And we are the last members in human history.
