Les mer My Inner Anime
We're bringing ANIME to the PEOPLE. Every Wednesday, two closet-fanatics (and dear friends) watch a randomly selected anime episode and use its often bonkers and always entertaining selection of characters, settings, and situations to piece together a questionable new narrative.

Ep. 26 - Grapefruit Crust
We compared Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, Episode 10, “New Dragon, Elma! (She’s Finally Appearing, Huh?)” to a bad acid trip. A thing we definitely know about. For sure. Definitely for sure. Other topics on which we share our expert opinions: debate hosts, appropriate drinks to serve with cookies, what La Croix tastes like, and astrolomy. You can trust us. This is a podcast.art by Jen-Jen Rose (@jenjenjenrose)cover design by Addison Butler
Ep 25 - Don’t Open the Brain Fold
We got so entangled in discussing human psychology, body functions, and society this week that we barely talked about How to Keep a Mummy, Episode 2, “Toyed With and Chased Around, Being Small is Hard”. Rather than unwinding the anime’s reality, we basically unwound our own. Addison developed a new field of Freudian thought where your id is a jealous baby, and Laurel poorly attempted to explain why we have the impulse to crush cute things. Both of which probably had to do with how painfully adorable the title character was.art by Jen-Jen Rose (@jenjenjenrose)cover design by Addison Butler
Ep 24 - Top Potatoes
We’re back with Food Wars! The Third Plate, Episode 20, “Erina’s Diligent Studies,” and with the true staples of this podcast: public television, middle school, and Addison’s personal beef with bacon. This episode will walk you through an array of Utah delicacies such as funeral potatoes, the accordion potat, and fry sauce. Also, the great secret of ~The Pop-Tart Incident~ is finally revealed. art by Jen-Jen Rose (@jenjenjenrose)cover design by Addison Butler
Ep 23 - Dino Myth 1010
This episode is all over the damn place, which might have to do with our multi-genre fare for the week: Magical Girl Ore, Episode 4, “Magical Girl - Versus Cyborg”. Inspired by this anime of many hats, we composed some self-insert Hades fanfic and created a new field of scholarship: Dinosaur Mythology. Incidentally, Hades teaches dino myth and Magical Girl Ore got her powers from the dinosaurs themselves. Small world, huh?art by Jen-Jen Rose (@jenjenjenrose)cover design by Addison Butler
Ep 22 - O-RANG-O-TANG
We missed the opportunity to exclusively serve Tang at the store we invented after watching Polar Bear Cafe, Episode 35, "Sloth Wants to Work! / Mr. Handa's Present". It's a shoelace haberdashery manned entirely by orangutans in bowler hats. We serve tea and books, but NOT Sunny-D. Don't even ask. art by Jen-Jen Rose (@jenjenjenrose)cover design by Addison Butler
