Now, Appalachia interview with author Van Jensen

On the latest episode of Now, Appalachia, Eliot speaks with author Van Jensen about his new novel GODFALL. Van Jensen is an author of novels, comic books and graphic novels, as well as a writer of film and TV. He is the creator of the GODFALL trilogy (Grand Central), in development as a TV series from Imagine Entertainment with Academy Award-winner Ron Howard attached to direct. Previously, he served as a Comic Book Ambassador for the U.S. State Department. Jensen was born and raised in a village in Western Nebraska. He lives in Atlanta.

On the latest episode of Now, Appalachia, Eliot interviews author Matt Jones about his new book A RECKONING UP BLACK CAT HOLLOW. Matt is the author of six critically acclaimed novels and several screenplays. Three of his novels, A Single Shot, Deepwater and Boot Tracks have been made into major motion pictures. He has taught writing at a number of colleges and universities, including the University of Virginia, Randolph Macon College and Lynchburg College. He grew up on a horse and dairy farm in rural upstate New York and currently lives in Charlottesville, Virginia.

On the latest episode of Now, Appalachia, Eliot interviews author Robin Yocum about his latest thriller THE LAST HITMAN. Robin is known for his fiction set in the Ohio River Valley. He has authored two nonfiction books and six novels. His most recent novel, The Sacrifice of Lester Yates, was released in April of 2021 by Arcade CrimeWise, and was a finalist for the 2021 Dashiell Hammett Award for outstanding crime writing. Favorite Sons was named the 2011 Book of the Year for Mystery/Suspense by USA Book News. A Brilliant Death was a Barnes & Noble No. 1 bestseller and a finalist for both the 2017 Edgar Award and the Silver Falchion Award for best adult mystery. Yocum is also the host of the true-crime podcast, Dead Before Deadline, which features stories he covered when he was a police and investigative reporter for the Columbus Dispatch.

She has taught courses in composition and rhetoric, writing center studies, creative nonfiction, and text analysis for over a decade. Her work has appeared in outlets such as the New York Times, Slate, Salon, Electric Literature, Joyland, Newsweek, and The Today Show.

John Antonik is senior director of athletics content at West Virginia University. He has authored four books on Mountaineer athletics: Saturday Snapshots: West Virginia University Football; The Backyard Brawl: Stories from One of the Weirdest, Wildest, Longest Running, and Most Intense Rivalries in College Football History; Roll Out the Carpet: 101 Seasons of West Virginia University Basketball;and West Virginia University Football Vault: The History of the Mountaineers.
