Welcome to this Three Minute Talk™ for Tuesday, February 27, 2024 . I’m Mark Scheffler, Senior Vice President and Senior Wealth Advisor for Johnson Financial Group. In case you’re in a hurry, here are three things to know right now: First, the recent hotter-than-expected read on inflation sent a one-day ripple through the markets as fears are growing that the Fed might have to hold rates higher for longer than expected. Second, money market yields continue to hold at annual rates just a tick above 5.00%. That’s healthy and is an attractive alternative to expected returns on some parts of the equity markets that carry a lot more inherent risk. Lastly, there are a lot of choices you can make while crafting your personal financial plan. But I want to pose to you what I think is the most important question to ask.
