93. Richmond Hillin räjähdys

Räjähdys oli niin voimakas, että 80 omakotitaloa vaurioitui ja niistä 34 jouduttiin purkamaan myöhemmin maan tasalla. Mittavista ponnisteluista huolimatta, pelastajat eivät pystyneet pelastamaan kahta alueen asukasta Dion ja Jennifer Longworthia. Edes poliisien havaitsema iso punainen veritahra auton puskurissa ei saanut heidän hälytyskellojaan soimaan. Järkyttävä totuus paljastui kuitenkin seuraavana aamuna, kun Brianin äiti soitti hätäkeskukseen ja kertoi löytäneensä poikansa vaatekaapista ihmisen pään. William Post III voitti yli 16 miljoonaa dollaria, mutta oli käytännössä katsoen rahaton vain kolme kuukautta voiton jälkeen. Yritys kasvoi nopeasti ja Barry päätti laajentaa ZZZZ Bestin toimintaa myös liiketilaremontteihin, joista tuli pian yrityksen merkittävin tulonlähde. Alle 20-vuotiaana Barry Minkow, jota mediassa kutsuttiin nimellä Wiz Kid, oli onnistunut siinä, mistä monet muut nuoret yrittäjät vain haaveilivat. Hän oli menestyvän pörssiyrityksen johtaja ja miljonääri. Totuus kuitenkin oli, ettei ZZZZ Best ollut koskaan toteuttanut yhtäkään liiketilaremonttia. Tapaus 1: The Spiderman of Denver 17. lokakuuta vuonna 1941 Phil Petersin naapurit huolestuivat, kun mies ei saapunut sovitusti illalliselle. He löysivät Philin raa’asti murhattuna omasta makuuhuoneestaan. Tutkinnassa talosta ei löydetty murtojälkiä, silti kaikki ovet ja ikkunat olivat lukittuja. Talo jäi autioksi ja naapurien kokemien outojen havaintojen vuoksi sitä alettiin pitää kummitustalona.
