hypersexuality is a predatory psyop

Read the companion piece on substack: https://open.substack.com/pub/s0wets0dry/p/sluts-and-shields?r=5l0b9y&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true follow on instagram and tiktok @s0wets0dry Do we really live in a hypersexual culture? Are you hypersexual? What’s normal? In this video essay I break down the concept of hypersexuality !!! what it means, where it comes from, and why it is a psyop (aka bullshit.) From Elvis's hips to twerking, OnlyFans to the Epstein files, ballet and Black Swan to One Battle After Another, everyone seems to have an opinion on who is "too sexual" and why. We’re talking: Elvis Presley, Little Richard, 1950’s sex education, bell hooks, the appropriation of Black music and dance, twerking, ballet, Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau, Swan Lake, Black Swan, the gender roles of hypersexuality, victim blaming, OnlyFans, rape culture, sex work, The Epstein Files, One Battle After Another, the Jezebel stereotype, the Mandingo stereotype, madness, the personal cost of being labeled hypersexual before you even understood your own sexuality, and so much more. Trigger Warning for racism, misogyny, homophobia, sexual assault, rape culture, sex work, and mental illness Sources: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kxJRDV__4zOnP-APMHBlPOlnRPRmw_n1MGRHhPiT7O8/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.v6yzgv3u59tg #hypersexuality #sexwork #onlyfans #moralpanic #powerdynamics #feminism #videoessay Disclaimer: This video is for entertainment, journalistic, and educational purposes only. the politics of madness: what defines mental "health"?

This video essay explores the history of mental illness, the history of psychiatry in America, the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), therapy culture, medication, and how “madness” has been shaped by colonialism, racism, sexism, capitalism, and eugenics. In 2026, more people than ever are being diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. Therapy and psychiatric medication are more accessible than ever, yet many of us still feel broken, unstable, paranoid, exhausted, or “crazy.” So what if the problem isn’t just our brains? This episode examines how mental illness became medicalized, institutionalized, racialized, gendered, and monetized, and why suffering is often treated as a personal defect rather than a rational response to an increasingly unstable world. We look at the rise of therapy culture and TherapyTok, BetterHelp and online therapy platforms, the American Psychiatric Association, Big Pharma, the chemical imbalance theory, and the political weaponization of “mental health” by both the left and the right. We also explore lived experience with diagnosis, including bipolar II disorder, PTSD, depression, medication, rehab, and long-term therapy, and what happens when you start questioning whether your diagnosis explains you
 or disciplines you.
