The players explore the metaphysical nature of their predicament. Frank and Caroline suspect they come from the same place, while Silas and Rufus find they obey the same emperor. Together, they resolve the fate of Greymalkin's Eye, and are swiftly on their way again.

Chapter Two finds our heroes entering the Perfume District of Per-Bastet in search of information. Caroline toasts construction workers and washer-women, and Onesie and Rufus help a blind beggar. Frank the cop's instincts pay off in a risky gambit, and then he helps a lost kitten.
