Traditional cuisine in eastern Germany: family man Heiko presents his favourite recipes

The recipe is presented in detail so that after listing you should be able to cook this German traditional meal yourself. Another of Heiko’s favourites is deer goulash, and he gives hints for how to prepare this dish deliciously. Cursorily also topics such as gummy bears and bake rolls in the GDR (socialist East-Germany) are discussed. Language of this episode: German. Learners of German will get in contact with rare but valuable words of everyday language such also "Mäkelpott" and "Mäuler stopfen" and specialist terminology such as "Geschmacksträger" and "gehaltvoll" and "ziehen lassen". Food as a part of tradition and culture: discussion with Christos Michael, a cured meat producer in Cyprus

Published as part of the Taste of Harmony project (Erasmus+) In the previous episode we spoke about marketing locally produced food. We continue the topic in this episode by discussing about tradition as a feeling and its relation to food preferences. We discuss food consumption and the targeting of specific groups of people, e.g. vegetarians. Other topics are the place of production, the connection between young people and their ancestors through continuation of tradition; and how social media influencers and ethical food brands impact the way we choose our food and value tradition. Core part of this episode is an interview with Christos Michael, a young entrepeneur from Cyprus offering cured meat products. He shares his experience in food marketing and his personal opinions about how tradition is linked to food and people’s shopping preferences. He describes how social media influences his audience and productivity and how he sees himself as a member of a traditional family. Language of this episode: Greek with some use of Cypriot dialect. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
