The Pilot Who Disappeared From the Sky

On October 21, 1978 Frederick Valentich, an Australian pilot with over 150 hours of experience in the air headed out on a routine flight from Melbourne to King Island. It was a route he’d taken loads of times. But about an hour into his flight, he radioed flight service about a mysterious craft following him. Throughout the conversation, he became increasingly frightened and then the transmission was disrupted by a strange metallic sound. Despite weeks of searching, Fred and his plane were never seen again. I’m Carly Heath and This week on The Astrology of Terrible Things Podcast, I’m joined by actor and comedian Elyssa Phillips and we pull up the astrology chart and try to figure out what happened to the pilot who disappeared from the sky.

I Talk to My Biological Doppelganger (about horrific discoveries at a duck farm)

If you’ve ever seen duck on the menu of a California restaurant, chances are, that duck came from Reichardt Duck farm in Petaluma. This farm supplies all sorts of dining establishments—from Michelin-star restaurants like the French Laundry to Chinatown storefronts. In 2014, the Sheriff’s department raided the farm in response to horrific undercover footage. But, ultimately, authorities would decide to prosecute the activists seeking to save the sick and dying animals rather than the duck farm committing the atrocities. This week on The Astrology of Terrible Things Podcast, I talk with my sister Dr. Crystal Heath about the more than 120 years of history around this Northern California Duck Farm responsible for supplying abused and diseased birds to restaurants all over the Golden State. Join us as we find out what the stars say about disease, deception, and the law.

episode I Talk to My Cosmic Doppelganger (and possibly break the universe) cover

I Talk to My Cosmic Doppelganger (and possibly break the universe)

Have you ever noticed patterns and repetitions in your life that just seem a little too on-the-nose? Some folks call them coincidences, synchronicities, glitches in the simulation… If these repetitions happened in a fictional story, the audience would be like: “Well, that’s not realistic,” but when they happen in life, it’s like you can see gears turning in the universe… This summer, I began realizing that key events in my life always happen on an equinox and I also find, during equinoxes, I encounter people from the southern hemisphere. During the fall equinox of 2023, I discovered someone who was doing a lot of work around the same social  movement I was involved in and who was, like me, photographing and documenting the same events I was photographing and documenting… this person was also named Carly, and the parallels in our lives are uncanny. This week, on the Astrology of Terrible Things, I talk with my very own glitch in the simulation—Carly Delso-Saavedra, the Southern Hemisphere Carly. We also talk about the other September 11th—September 11, 1973, the Chilean coup d'état, an event that’s been pretty much erased from American history books, but is something everyone should know about — and it also happens to be an event that played an important role in the events of Carly’s life.  Interestingly, we’re recording this episode the day after Henry Kissinger, who was a key supervillain in the Chilean Coup, died. A huge synchronicity because we’ve been planning this podcast for about a week now. The universe is bonkers and we’re about to find out what happens when we break the universe by talking to our cosmic doppleganger.

Did the Loch Ness Monster Kill the "Fastest Man Alive"?

On September 29th, 1952 John Rhodes Cobb, a three-time World Land Speed Record Holder, who’d previously driven at speeds of up to 403 miles per hour and earned the press moniker “The Fastest Man Alive,” was attempting to break the Water Speed Record at Loch Ness. While piloting his speedboat, John Cobb attained over 240 miles per hour when his boat struck a mysterious ripple. The vessel immediately took a nose dive and disintegrated, throwing Cobb 50 feet. He died instantly. Did the Loch Ness monster cause the crash that killed The Fastest Man Alive? I pull up the astrology chart on this week’s episode of The Astrology of Terrible Things and make some fascinating discoveries about Mars, Jupiter, and the 5th house year. episode The Beautiful Death of Evelyn McHale cover

The Beautiful Death of Evelyn McHale

On May 1, 1947, Evelyn McHale jumped off the 86th story of the Empire State Building, falling over 1000 feet and landing on her back atop a UN Limosine. Usually, a human body would be pretty messed up after such an impact, but immediately following the fall, Evelyn looked peaceful — her eyes and mouth closed, her legs crossed, her hands clutching her pearl necklace. The sight was so captivating, a photography student snapped a photo of her corpse and it was published in LIFE magazine with the title "The Most Beautiful Suicide." That photo would be referenced by David Bowie, Taylor Swift and other musicians decades after her death. Who was Evelyn McHale and why was her death immortalized in such a beautiful photo?  Tigresse Bleu and I pull up the astrology chart and make some fascinating discoveries about Venus and Saturn. Join us on this week’s episode of The Astrology of Terrible Things podcast where we discuss the life and death of Evelyn McHale, the real woman behind the most beautiful suicide. Tune in to The Astrology of Terrible Things wherever you get your podcasts.

Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
