Whatever Little We Can Do: Lisa Maloney-Vinz on Leading Proudly for Over a Decade

Lisa Maloney-Vinz is an award winning leader of the Twin Cities, MN LGBTQ+ community [https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2020/06/12/2020-business-of-pride-honorees.html#g/469164/9] who has led the LGBTQ+ efforts at Ecolab for 10 years (and counting!) We discuss her coming out journey, what its like to lead an organization like that, and the process of winning her award. She's been a friend and colleague for a few years now, and I feel honored that she chose to come onto the podcast.  Lisa is also the Program Director of Global Community Relations, and she has the following advice on charitable giving:  * When making a donation to a charitable organization, remember to do your research. * What is their mission? How are they measuring and communicating their success? * What is their annual budget related to their mission and deliverables? Are they a reputable organization? Check Charity Navigator [https://www.charitynavigator.org/] and Charities Review Council [https://smartgivers.org/] (for MN) * Consider making a donation to help with food insecurity. There are thousands of food shelves around the country. Feeding America [https://www.feedingamerica.org/] is a resource for many of those. Second Harvest is another. Search the web to find your local chapter of these organization to give locally. * One of my favorite organization is Neighborhood House in St. Paul, MN. Their food shelf takes special care to offer culture specific foods and fresh produce to the local community.  Do a little today. "There are no regrets if you learn something": Alex Smith on Sobriety, Finding Meaning, and Family Business

Alex Smith, a Darden 2022 MBA Candidate joins me for an interview on his journey thus far. We have a conversation on finding love that nourishes you (I know, barf), moving to Detroit, and finding meaning through helping others find their purpose. Its a great conversation, and I look forward to your feedback.  Alex wants to promote Teen Hype [https://www.teenhype.org/], an organization doing great work in Detroit. He also mentioned The Power of Meaning [https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30008950-the-power-of-meaning] by Emily Esfahani Smith.  Get in touch with me on IG/TW @thecareerqueer OR thecareerqueer@gmail.com Podcast art done by Tara Kraft [http://www.tarakraftart.com/], find her on Instagram @tarakraftart or @grownassblue

Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
