In this episode, we dive into the importance of educating children about marriage from a Catholic perspective. Our guest, John Clark, author of "Betrayed Without A Kiss: Defending Marriage After Years of Failed Leadership in the Church," shares his insights on the current state of marriage and the challenges it faces. We start by exploring the primary purpose of marriage according to Church teaching, which is the procreation and education of children. This teaching is considered infallible and holds significant weight for Catholics. We delve into the factors that have weakened marriage in recent decades, such as high divorce rates, declining marriage rates, and a rise in children born outside of marriage. An interesting trend explored is the prevalence of annulments granted by Church tribunals. The presumption of marriages being valid unless proven otherwise has been contradicted by the granting of annulments in a majority of cases.
