Brooklyn artist, Avangelia talks with DJ about her roots of becoming a musician and how it all leads to the recent release of her debut album, Angel In The Wild. EP. 2: The State Takeover of HISD Pt.1

Protests [https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/education/article/hundreds-hisd-teachers-march-superintendent-1] have spawned across Houston ISD in recent months in response to the state takeover by the Texas Education Agency [https://tea.texas.gov]. With the appointing of Superintendent Mike Miles [https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/education/article/new-hisd-superintendent-mike-miles-18121136.ph] and the Board of Managers [https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/education/article/new-hisd-school-board-of-managers-18121144.php] back in June of 2023, They have replaced elected officials that were voted in by the members of the HISD community. Now, the takeover has seemingly taken away the community’s right to vote on district related matters. Teachers, parents, and students are all voicing their opposition to the changes made by Miles’ New Education System [https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/education/article/hisd-state-takeover-live-updates-18121113.php], a reform plan to fix the issues faced within the district .

For the first episode, We delve into the careers of Brad Leblanc and Will Fortson or as you may know them as Bradeaux and Will, hosts of the Bradeaux & Will Show. These two young men have carved out a space for themselves and their community where Houston Rockets fan can come together to talk about their favorite NBA franchise. However, things got kind of chippy when the app was bought by Tech billionaire, Elon Musk. With that, came some changes for the app that may have affected Brad and Will's ability to create the content they love.
