episode The Power Of Vulnerability [S01E14] cover

The Power Of Vulnerability [S01E14]

What’s good Fathers! Well this is it. The Season 1 Finale, and man do we have a juicy one. We are talking about vulnerability. I know…I cringed at the thought of it too. Exposing my pain. Being emotional. Allowing my sensitive side to show. These aren’t things fathers do! Or are they? On this Episode, Gladys and I discuss this needed, yet challenging topic around being vulnerable. I will be the first to admit this is a real challenge for me. I was not raised to be that type of man. Yet day after day, I discover what I would truly miss out on, if I refused to express who I truly am with those I love. Being vulnerable is Tom Cruise…hold up…I mean risky business. There is no guarantee when you let your guard down. From my experience though, when you do allow yourself to be vulnerable, your children get the most precious gift you could offer them. The real you. Grow More! Be More! Open Table Discussion The biggest kick I get out of doing these podcasts, is hearing from you. Each week, I ask one question. Question of the Week: What challenges do you have being vulnerable with your child or children? Sirloin Tips From This Episode: •A definition of vulnerability from two parents learning how to be vulnerable •The difficulty I have as a father being vulnerable •Understanding the struggle between bieng vulnerable vs. asserting my authority •3 benefits of being vulnerable with your children •And much more…

episode How To Affirm Your Child [S01E11] cover

How To Affirm Your Child [S01E11]

What’s good Fathers! Do you believe in life defining moments? Those times where you knew it was a pivotal turning point in who you were to become. We all have them. Marriage. Career transition. Having children. Yet, it doesn’t stop there. I learned this truth all too well with Kyndall, my soon to be 8-year old. She is constantly stretching me as a father whether she knows it or not (I think she does). One area that is extremely important for her is receiving affirmations; knowing without a shadow of a doubt that I value her. One problem. I haven’t always been great at it. Until…I learned a valuable lesson. In this episode, we share a 5-part process in which you can affirm your child. Fathers, your child needs to hear from you. You have a great opportunity to give them a beacon of light and focus, as they journey through the challenges of life. Positive affirmations offer blessings, hope, and a future. They feel empowered and you experience parenting at a new level. Sounds like a Win-Win to me. Enjoy! Open Table Discussion The biggest kick I get out doing these podcasts is hearing from you. Each week I ask one question. Here's this weeks: What approach do you take to affirm your children? Sirloin Tips From This Episode: •How to capture defining moments with your children •The potential negative effects of not affirming your children •A 5 - part process in which to affirm your children for long lasting impact •Become a person that has strong visualization skills to grow personally •And much more… Discover Additional Resources In this episode we mentioned the following resources: •You Have What It Takes by John Eldredge – His aim is to give Father’s the courage, confidence and conviction to connect with their sons or daughters. You can read my review of this book here. •The New One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard & Spencer Johnson – This book offers an amazing strategy (written in story form) on how to approach managing others effectively.

episode How To Achieve Excellence For Your Children [S01E09] cover

How To Achieve Excellence For Your Children [S01E09]

What’s good y’all! Achieving excellence is no short task. It requires discipline, grit, and an unyielding drive to impact in a significant way. One of my favorite persons that displays this type of character is Tony Dungy. He’s a man that always puts his principles into practice no matter if it's at home, on the football field, or as an NFL commentator. The excellence he and so many other fathers achieve though does not happen overnight. There is no magic solution. It simply means showing up putting your best effort on a daily basis. Another father that I know personally who shares this same attitude is Mick Scott. On this episode, Mick and I discussed how key it is for a father to take on the responsibility of being there for his children. Mick has two awesome boys (Henry and Ben) and he wants to ensure they develop into responsible men, who deeply care about how they impact the world around them. Fathers, never underestimate the power of your presence. Mick and I both believe you have it in you to take your fatherhood to a whole new level. When your children see that you’re willing to reach new heights, they will stretch with you. How great is that! Enjoy! Question To Consider What area of your life do you need to take more responsibility, believing it will make a significant difference in your relationship with your child or children? Sirloin Tips from this episode: Value to take a stand (5:00) The difference having a kid makes on a father (6:40) Two main challenges as a father (8:20) Why being responsible for yourself is critical (13:12) One teacher’s perspective of his classroom (20:32) Why we need others (31:33) And much more… SUBSCRIBE to the Podcast If you have enjoyed this podcast please subscribe on Spreaker. episode Fathermore with Rev. Kris Cooper [S1E6] cover

Fathermore with Rev. Kris Cooper [S1E6]

You know what one of my favorite drinks is? A half-n-half! It’s a blend of half lemonade and half tea. Honestly I am not a fan of tea at all, but when its blended with some good lemonade…watch out. Another popular blend is the family. A blended family is simply parents and children combined from previous/current relationships. Being in a blended family can be tough. Knowing what role to play as a non-biological parent. Wondering if a child is being treated more or less fairly than another. How to communicate effectively with other parents around certain subjects (discipline, family trips, etc.). If you are in a blended family these maybe some of the issues you are facing. How do you handle it all? I had a chance to talk with my good friend, Rev. Kris Cooper on The Fathermore Podcast to discuss blended families, fatherhood, and faith. So grab a half-n-half (or whatever it is you prefer) and listen to Kris as he explains the importance of blending the family effectively and much more. Enjoy! episode Fathermore with Chad Keyser [S1E3] cover

Fathermore with Chad Keyser [S1E3]

Isn’t it great when you can sit down with someone and instantly connect? That's exactly what happened on this interview. I met Chad when I had the opportunity to preach at his church around Easter. Immediately we hit it off. I could tell he was a man of insight and genuineness. I think you will agree when you hear him talk about his family, and perspectives on life. We laughed a lot. I mean a lot. Yet at the same time, he gave us some “Sirloin Tips” any father would appreciate. Listen in as Chad gets brutality honest about how to…Fathermore In This Episode, You Will Discover: •What happens when a man loses the male perspective (5:10) •The inspiration Obama gives him (20:52) •Chad’s simple, yet compelling mantra (29:03) •Hear us geek out on who Chad’s kids say he reminds them of (32:36) •The movie that gave Chad some real perspective on his approach in life (36:02) •And much more… Subscribe to the Podcast If you have enjoyed this podcast please subscribe on Spreaker. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
