episode Episode 2: Positivity cover

Episode 2: Positivity

Join us in todays show as we feature our first guest how Maureen from seshwithmo!!  The Pollyanna principle is the tendency for people to remember pleasant items more accurately than unpleasant ones. Research indicates that at the subconscious level, the mind tends to focus on the optimistic; while at the conscious level, it tends to focus on the negative. Sometimes positivity gets conflated with denial, and what i mean by that is, you could be 100KGs overweight and you are looking in the mirror and telling yourself, "Don't worry its okay, you look great"...but the reality of things are, no you don't look great, you are 100KGs overweight!. In context maybe negativity is the wrong word, but how about just honesty, honesty to snap down the denial and be truthful to yourself, like no i'm overweight, I need to address the issue by first accepting the issue, you know, it doesn't feel good to be this overweight, this is a negative physical state for oneself, and it feel negative to my body! then you can leverage that negativity as fuel to catalyze change. But if you ar just casually walking around with a blind positive attitude about everything, then you are missing signals to make changes t your life that could make your life better.

episode Episode 1: Lies cover

Episode 1: Lies

Let me ask you something ... How often do you lie? But that I mean how often do you edit or adjust, what is it that you honestly want to express? I can't recall which philosopher/writer it was, but they said ... its rare that we lie to others, mostly we lie to ourselves! I always thought of that to be profound and it was at the heart of shame and guilty, and censoring yourself and never being able to speak up, and in retrospect wishing that you said what you wanted to say! Just think about it, how often are you casually conditioned to lie to others, but really to yourself! I mean don't get more wrong, I understand it, we lie for many reason: to keep our families, our relationships, our jobs, for a lot of things really. But over time think about what sort of effect that has...when lying to yourself becomes just a harmless tactic, a reflex, part of your rudimentary day to day. In this episode we explore the dynamics and intricacy that are lies ... what they do to us .... how we tell them and a whole more... Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
