21. being a working mum, dealing with daily fatigue... and then making a mistake on a patient. 😮‍💨 and what I'm doing about it

Managing fatigue at work because I'm a mother to 3 small children is not for the faint-hearted. And then at work last week, the worst happened... I made a mistake on a patient. Thankfully she is fine, everything got sorted out, but I lost hours of sleep over it, and it actually helped me to further accept my fatigue, instead of denying it and pretending I'm okay. 20. I thought I needed more money to make me less stressed as a mum, instead *this* is what I needed 💸💸

Money has always been so stressful for me for as long as I can remember - and then becoming a mum just meant it was even worse. I always had to rely on Afterpay, I'd barely get through a fortnight trying to pay for everything, but what I was so confused about was that for a mum, I'm always working SO hard, so why am I always running out of money? If only I just had an extra $100-200 a fortnight to get me through - but why the heck is that? 19. how having no family around means that no one is there to support you through those big life chapters (kids, weddings...)

This week I just felt *off* like... flat. And when I talked to my sister, who has just gotten engaged a couple of months ago, we realised we were both feeling the same vibes of the sadness that comes with not having family around in your day to day life to support you through those big life events (or chapters - because planning a wedding can take months, and having children, well - that goes for literal years). 18. this time last year I was in survival mode... and now I don't even need to clean every week. Capacity changes with our seasons 🤍

I used to freak out when we would have busy days, or busy seasons, at full capacity - to the point I couldn't even clean up after dinner or at least before I went to bed. I would have thoughts like - "is this just my life now?!" and honestly? The answer is NO. This is not about pressuring ourselves to "be better" - better at cleaning, better at keeping up, or the opposite - better at letting go of the mess, better at being a chill mum. This is about a deeper understanding of ourselves than that.
