The Fight of My Life: Rebuilding Trust | The I'm Out Here Show Ep. 3

The most powerful feeling in early sobriety is the empowerment. You feel like a new person, and you expect the world to see it. But what happens when the people who love you most are still looking at you like the person you used to be?In this episode of The I'm Out Here Show, we're talking about the single most difficult and important tool in the recovery toolkit: patience. This is the raw, unfiltered truth about the long, slow process of rebuilding trust with the family and friends who went through the war with you. It's about understanding that they have their own recovery to do—recovering from the trauma of you. This is for anyone who's ever felt frustrated that the world isn't catching up to their progress. This is how you learn to be patient while the world learns to trust the new you. SUPPORT THE MISSION: The best way to support this work is by joining the crew or grabbing the official gear. The Fight of My Life: The Long Road Home | The I'm Out Here Show Ep. 2

Walking out of the hospital isn't the end of the fight. In this episode, I'm sharing the raw, unfiltered story of what happened next: the brutal reality of recovery at home, the loneliness of finding your footing in a world that's moved on without you, and the final, unexpected gut-punch of losing my job after everything I had fought through. This is the story of hitting a new rock bottom. This is for anyone who has ever won a battle, only to find themselves facing a new war. episode The Fight of My Life: My Sobriety Origin Story | The I'm Out Here Show Ep. 1 cover

The Fight of My Life: My Sobriety Origin Story | The I'm Out Here Show Ep. 1

My name is Jeremy Norsworthy. This is the story of how my life ended, and how it began again. In the summer of 2021 (I get it wrong in this episode), I was playing music, living the life, and ignoring the warning signs. It took the terrified look in the eyes of my son's mother to make me realize something was seriously wrong. What followed was a complete collapse: hallucinations, detox, a paracentesis to drain fluid from my body, and waking up in the ICU to find my friends and family gathered to say their last goodbyes. This is the raw, unscripted, and honest account of my journey through end-stage liver disease and cirrhosis. It's the story of learning to walk again, to write my own name, and the moment I walked out of that hospital, knowing that no part of my life required alcohol anymore—because my son needed his dad. This is the origin story of "I'm Out Here." It's the "why" behind the entire mission. If you are struggling, please know you are not alone. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
