This verse provides the “Table of Contents” for the early church: Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the world. A witness simply tells what they have seen and heard. You don’t need to be an expert to be a witness; you only need to be willing to share the impact God has had on your journey. Today’s Power Practice: Practice articulating your “story of hope”—how God has met you in your life’s journey. Prayer: Holy Spirit, give me the boldness to be a faithful witness where I am today. It is the strength God gives us to lead ourselves and serve others beyond our natural limits. Today’s Power Practice: Identify one “impossible” situation you are facing and ask for God’s power to see it through. Prayer: Lord, I trade my weakness for Your power today; lead me by Your Spirit. Just as water cleanses the outside, the Spirit empowers and ignites our inside for service. This baptism is a total immersion into God’s life and purpose. Today’s Power Practice: Wash your face with cold water and use the sensation to remind you of the “refreshing” and renewal of the Spirit. Returning to the city where their Leader was killed should have been terrifying, but worship had changed their perspective. They were joyful not because their lives were suddenly easy, but because they knew their Saviour was exalted and reigning. Worship is the key to maintaining joy in difficult environments. Today’s Power Practice: Smile at everyone you meet today as a simple outward act of choosing an inward joy. Prayer: Lord, fill my heart with great joy as I worship You for who You are. Praise prepares the heart for what’s next by taking our eyes off our lack and putting them on God’s abundance. Today’s Power Practice: Listen to a piece of music that inspires you today and focus entirely on God’s character and goodness.
