Our very special guest, Hannu Partanen, tells us how he became a lawyer at Supercell and what his every day job is like at one of the most well-known mobile gaming companies in the world. Supercell is a Finland-based mobile game development company, reaching its global market through games such as Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, and its most recent hit Brawl Stars. In this episode we have Alexandros Alexandrou, a Queen Mary University PhD researcher from Cyprus, to talk about his experiences with taking part in the annual moot court competition regarding video game law called the Games Industry Legal Challenge. Here, we highlight some of the challenges that the industry is currently facing and discuss the issues of the new Copyright Directive. The Legal Challenge is a great opportunity as a student to learn what is going on in the industry, and to get critical with the current hot topics. For this episode it is great to have Simon (@Hanjosi form Twitter), who is also a law student, to share some curiosities within the legal sector of the games industry and personal insights on the legal aspects of being an artists within the video game community. In the new episode of The Legal Bit, I sit down with Rahul Gandhi, a trainee solicitor at CMS, to talk about his path on getting into the esports industry and working at one - what brought him there, what it was like working for the industry, and what he gained from the experience.
