episode Why goal setting is flawed and limits our happiness and How to use habits to achieve your dreams. cover

Why goal setting is flawed and limits our happiness and How to use habits to achieve your dreams.

In this episode we talk about why goal setting is flawed and how we can use habits and rituals to accomplish our dreams .Despite being touted by many a self-help guru, goal setting has some problematic facets.Goals rely on factors which we do not always have control over. Goals rely on willpower and self-discipline.Keeping a goal in mind and using it to direct our actions requires constant willpower. During times when other parts of our lives deplete our supply of willpower, it can be easy to forget our goals. Where as Habits are the compound interest of self-development. The same way that money multiplies through compound interest, the effects of your habits multiply as you repeat them. They seem to make little difference on any given day and yet the impact they deliver over the months and years can be enormous. It is only when looking back, two, five, or perhaps ten years later that the value of good habits and the cost of bad ones become strikingly apparent.Whatever you are today , like almost everything is a lagging measure of your habits. Like for example Your net worth is a lagging measure of your financial habits. Your weight is a lagging measure of your workout & eating habits . Your knowledge is a lagging measure of your learning habits. Our habits define who we are.The ultimate form of intrinsic motivation is when a habit becomes part of your identity. You might start a habit because of motivation, but the only reason you’ll stick with one is that it becomes part of your identity. True behavior change is identity change. It is so easy to overestimate the importance of one defining moment and underestimating the value of making small improvements on a daily basis.Time magnifies the margin between success and failure. It will multiply whatever you feed it.Good habits make time your ally. Bad habits make time your enemy. If successful and unsuccessful people share the same goals, then the goal cannot be what differentiates the winners from the losers. So If you want better results, then forget about setting goals. Focus on your system instead

episode How your Data is used to control you ,and the new not so far future of Humanity. Homo Deus : Review. cover

How your Data is used to control you ,and the new not so far future of Humanity. Homo Deus : Review.

this spellbinding book has this simple but chilling idea: that human nature might be transformed in the 21st century because intelligence is being separated from consciousness/feelings. In today's podacst we talk about the book Homo Deus ,where we will examine the possible consequences of a futuristic world in which intelligent biological organisms ( basically us humans)are surpassed by our own creations such as artificial intelligence. and we also discuss about how maybe a lot of it is coming true ,how algorithms designed by us , have already been used against us ,to manipulate our behaviour with respect to the voting in brexit and trump election .Homo Deus argues that humanity will definitely progress in future towards bliss, immortality, and divinity but that progress is bound to be unequal—some people will leap ahead, while many more would be far far left behind.

Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
