Romans 12:2 and Philippians 2:12 are texts used that highlight the truth that "gospel people" may aspire to be good examples of the good news but are also examples that reveal a process of change. Positive changes are revealed along with the need for further change as Christians walk down the path of life with God. This means that "evangelical" may be a helpful label, but it also means that "it's complicated" is always part of the larger story. A Time for Anger

In our engagement with all of life, we will encounter some circumstances that will make us angry. Ephesians 4:26-27 tells us there's a time for anger, but it should have a short duration. This is not always easy, but it is much better for us to let anger have its moment and then to let it go. How do you respond when anger knocks on your door? Reframing the Process

Welcome to THE LINK: Bridging Faith and Life with Dr. Vincent Bacote! Every month, Dr. Bacote will introduce listeners to ways they can build connections between faith and life in their ministries and personal lives. This month Dr. Bacote shares an insight that came to him about the intersection of our path of sanctification and our efforts to live well together. Sometimes, when we have a great vision (e.g. such as a multicultural church), there can be greater difficulty to bring the vision to fruition than first imagined. Philippians 2:12 and Romans 12:2 both help us to see that all of us are "on the way" in our path of transformation, which also means that sometimes our differing trajectories of sanctification can be revealed as we pursue our goals. Let's reframe our expectations, and keep moving forward, though it will likely take longer to realize the vision. Note: Dr. Bacote also mentions Carter G. Tribute to a Friend

This month's episode is a tribute to Dr. Bacote's friend and colleague Dr. Daniel Treier, who passed away the Monday before Christmas. He was a great support to Dr. Bacote and many others, and a great example of a person who embodied Hebrews 10:24-25, a verse that is not only an encouragement to the private dimensions of faith but also the public aspects as well. Dr. Bacote misses him greatly, but is encouraged and inspired by his life to keep building bridges between faith and life.
