Episode 67: Why Wellbeing is an Advantage - Not a Perk

In this episode of The Mindful Business, I share why wellbeing is no longer a nice-to-have - it's a leadership essential. I explore how outdated leadership models are still driving burnout, what stress really looks like today, and why we need more than surface-level solutions. You'll hear my own story of pushing through during pregnancy, why acute stress is rising, and how leaders and organisations can start doing things differently. We'll look at: * The real cost of ignoring leader wellbeing * What sustainable leadership actually looks like * Practical first steps for creating healthier team cultures * Why getting external support can make all the difference If you're a leader holding a lot, this episode is your reminder that staying well is not a weakness. It's a strategy. Listen in and share with a leader who needs to hear this. Final thought This isn't about lowering standards. It's about making success sustainable. A burned-out leader can't inspire. But a grounded one? A well-resourced one? They can transform an entire culture. You don't have to be superhuman. You just have to be honest about what you need, and how you lead. Because wellbeing isn't the soft stuff. It's the stuff that makes everything else possible. Episode 66: Stop Hustling, Start Thriving: How to Stress Less and Achieve More

In this episode of The Mindful Business, I share my personal journey through burnout and the powerful lesson it taught me: you don't achieve more by doing more - you achieve more by stressing less. We explore why hustle culture keeps us stuck in survival mode, what chronic stress really does to your brain, and how small, intentional changes can help you feel calmer, clearer, and more effective at work and in life. If you're an ambitious woman juggling business, career, or family (or all three), this episode is your reminder that sustainable success starts with your wellbeing. In this episode, you'll learn: * Why stress becomes our "normal" - and how to retrain your brain * The hidden cost of being constantly busy and always on * My personal burnout story and what finally helped me reset * Why being busy isn't the same as being effective * Three practical tools to reduce overwhelm: the 4 Ds, micro-pauses, and intentional endings to your workday Final thought You don't need to hustle harder to succeed. When you feel calmer and clearer, you lead better, think better, and get more of the right things done. Episode 65: From Burnout to Balance. How Mindfulness Changed Sarah's Life and Career

What happens when your mind never switches off, stress feels constant, and life becomes a cycle of overwhelm and survival mode? In this powerful and honest conversation, I'm joined by Sarah Cardwell, a long-standing mindfulness client, as she shares how mindfulness became a turning point in her mental health, her career and her confidence as a working mum. Diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Generalised Anxiety Disorder while working in high-pressure sales, Sarah reached a point where traditional therapies were no longer enough. Mindfulness was the one tool she never believed would work and the one that ultimately helped her quiet her racing mind, rebuild self-trust and create healthier boundaries in work and life. In this episode we explore: * What it really feels like when your mind never switches off * Why CBT and other therapies did not fully work for Sarah, and why mindfulness did * How learning to pause helped her to react differently to stress * The moment she realised that peace, not busyness, was what she truly craved * How mindfulness supported her return to work, career confidence and leadership * Why workplace wellbeing is about culture, not just perks * What healthy boundaries and balance actually look like in real life Sarah also shares how she now works in a company with a genuine wellbeing culture, and why feeling valued, seen and supported at work matters more than any surface-level wellness initiative. This episode is for you if you feel constantly "on", if your mind struggles to rest, or if you're navigating anxiety, burnout or a demanding career while trying to hold everything together. A deeply human conversation about awareness, self-compassion, boundaries and learning to live with more presence and less pressure. About Sarah: Sarah is a 42-year-old sales manager at a leading hotel chain and a mother of two teenage daughters. Being diagnosed with BPD and GAD in 2018 led her on a journey to explore mental health and wellbeing. She also enjoys sharing her experiences with wellness, along with the products and experiences offered by TEMPLESPA. In addition, Sarah manages a team of 40 men and women who are building a business and generating extra income through wellbeing and skincare experiences. Episode 64: Why Setting Goals in January Doesn't Work

Every January we're encouraged to set new goals and come back to work energised, focused, and ready to perform. But for many busy professionals, that pressure lands at exactly the wrong time. In this episode, I explore why January goal-setting so often fails - not because of a lack of motivation or discipline, but because of exhaustion, stress, and a mismatch between natural energy and workplace expectations. We'll look at: * The hidden pressure of January at work * Why most New Year's resolutions don't last * How working with seasonal rhythms supports sustainable change * Why rest and recovery are foundational to wellbeing and performance * A gentle reflection for those who want clarity without overwhelm If January feels heavier than expected, this episode offers a calmer, more realistic way forward. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
