Les mer The Mister Embryo Show

The Mister Embryo Show is a soul-searching podcast where every episode I will sit with a new guest, explore a new topic and pick their brains about their various interests and passions. A husband and a father, I'm well aware that my kids are going to have questions that I won't have the answers to, so the mission is to talk to people who do. Warning: these conversations will be held over many, many cups of coffee (or shots of bourbon) so every interview is bound to go off the rails. Listen, laugh, and grow on the Mister Embryo Show.

Episode 9 - All Time Favorite Movies... For Now

The Mister Embryo Show is all about exploring our identity, the things we do and the things we love that make us who we really are. My cousin Darrell Miles and I both love movies, and in this episode we share our personal lists of All Time Favorite Movies. Disclaimer: we did have this conversation a few weeks ago, so our lists will most likely be different if we were to have this conversation again today. In talking about our favorite movies we come to learn more about ourselves, the stories we're drawn to, and the ways our perspective of movies evolve over the years. We also talk about the lack of diversity in Hollywood and the need for us to seek out and support more films from People of Color.  I urge you to compile your own list of favorite movies, think about why you love those films and whether or not your list is due for a change. Enjoy this conversation, and if you are an aspiring filmmaker, please get your stories out there because we'd love to see them and talk about them. Especially if you're a person of color, your story needs to be heard.

episode Episode 8 - Hot Air Balloon cover

Episode 8 - Hot Air Balloon

The Mister Embryo Show is a conversation show about identity, community, and creativity, typically over many cups of coffee and/or whiskey. In this  episode I share with you a song called "Hot Air Balloon," a song I wrote many years ago at a time I was feeling very alone, sad, angry, and hopeless. These are a lot of the same emotions we are experiencing right now as we mourn the deaths of countless members of the black community— innocent people who died as a result of the systemic racism in the United States that can no longer be ignored. I try my best to talk through some of the thoughts and emotions I've had these past couple weeks, offer some ways we can help create change and support the Black Lives Matter movement. I'm still learning, and this is only the beginning of a larger conversation we will continue to have within our home, within our communities and our society as a whole.  This song is for George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, and all our brothers and sisters who are mourning and suffering. And this song is for you, as a reminder for you to know your self-worth, and to know you can be the change you want to see in the world. Sounds corny, I know, but it's true.

Episode 7 - Creating Beauty Out of Destruction

The Mister Embryo Show is a soul-searching podcast where every episode I will sit with a new guest, explore a new topic and pick their brains about their various interests and passions. A husband and a father living in San Diego, I'm well aware that my kids are going to have questions that I won't have the answers to, so the mission is to talk to people who do. Warning: these conversations will be held over many, many cups of coffee (or shots of bourbon) so every interview is bound to go off the rails. Listen, laugh, and grow on the Mister Embryo Show. In this episode, I had a great conversation with Josh aka ChuckleSeed about the importance of creativity and using art to channel your emotions especially when times are difficult. We dive into his love and appreciation for cosplay, nerd culture, and other creative outlets he's into. He opens up about his sobriety, and talks about the positive impact the cosplay community can have in the lives of others. Another friend of mine who I go way back with and my main songwriting partner back in our old punk rock days. He's a cool dude that makes cool stuff, and hopefully his stories inspire you to create something beautiful out of all the destruction that surrounds us. Check out a few of his cool cosplay builds on instagram @chuckle.seed [https://www.instagram.com/chuckle.seed/]

The Year 2020 has been a crazy year for all of us, but in all honesty, my guest in this episode had me beat. Omid talks about the hardships he had to face as a Persian-American at a time tensions were high between the United States and Iran. Two countries he holds dear to his heart were on the brink of war when out of nowhere the news of Kobe Bryant's death brought the entire world to a halt. Omid was still grieving the loss of his childhood hero when just two days later, he had to man up, and assume his new role as father to his newborn baby boy. And oh yeah... there's something called COVID-19 going around. Thank God for Netflix! We finish off the episode on a lighter note, as Omid shares his favorite things to stream while in quarantine. Episode 5 - Carnival

The Mister Embryo Show is a soul-searching podcast where every episode I will sit with a new guest, explore a new topic and pick their brains about their various interests and passions. In my most embarrassing episode to date, I talk about and share with you the first song I ever wrote, a cheesy little song called "Carnival." I wrote it in my bedroom on a tiny toy guitar when I was 19 about a girl I had a crush on, who incidentally became my wife many, many years later. We celebrated our four-year wedding anniversary this past week so this bonus episode about Carnival felt appropriate. My wife is a superhero, and I am so lucky I was able to trap her. Happy Anniversary to my homie for life.

Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
