The New U Podcast host, Marcus Geeter, welcomes his longtime friend and esteemed psychotherapist, Ms. Linda A. Hochfeld, to an inspiring conversation. Linda is more than a licensed mental health practitioner—she is a compassionate guide, dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and groups overcome life’s most difficult emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges. Through her blend of talk therapy and evidence-based counseling, Linda empowers clients to manage mental health conditions, strengthen relationships, and discover renewed hope.
“My passion is people. When someone is brave enough to bare their soul in pursuit of a better life, I can’t help but feel deep compassion,” Linda shares. “While I am clinically astute, I offer warmth, objectivity, and a diverse perspective that truly resonates with those I serve.”
Licensed in both Illinois and Wisconsin, Linda’s experience spans working with victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, and trauma. Before establishing her own practice, she made a difference in the lives of foster children, further deepening her understanding and empathy.
Linda’s expertise extends to working with traumatized youth—a true calling for her—as well as adults facing depression, anxiety, lifestyle transitions, and the lasting impact of abuse. She provides family and couples counseling, is EMDR-trained, and conducts assessments for those affected by immigration issues. Fluent in Spanish, Linda also offers specialized immigration evaluations.
Her unwavering commitment is evident: Linda makes herself available to her clients beyond regular hours, driven by a genuine calling to serve. Utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and EMDR, she crafts a holistic approach for lasting change.
Based in Waukegan, Illinois, Linda welcomes clients at her practice at 320 Grand Ave. If you’re seeking guidance, healing, or simply someone who truly cares, you can walk in or schedule an appointment by calling 773-415-3448.
