Micah is a father to 3 and plant enthusiast living in Phoenix with his wife Jess, whose a radical birthkeeper. Micah talks about his experiences with birth - first, witnessing his wife’s cesarean for breech all while dealing with institutional racism, fear tactics, and pressure. Jacob and Mason are long time friends and sit down casually over beer and ganj to chat freebirth, fatherhood, and friendship. Jacob was initiated into fatherhood at the young age of 20 through witnessing his fiance Delainey’s medicalized birth of their son. 3 years later, they decided they wanted to have a different experience and she freebirthed their daughter. Jacob draws potent comparisons between the 2 and how they shaped him as a father. He goes into what it means to be an active witness in birth, the importance of communication, and how they navigated dynamics around boundaries with friends and family.
