Les mer The Question Box with Kevin Makins

When did talking about religion get so boring? Let's make it weird again. The Question Box is simple: Each week pastor and author Kevin Makins invites listeners to ask the best question they can think of. (Best is up to your discretion, but it’s anonymous… and absolutely nothing is off limits.) Make it personal or theoretical, a hot topic or utterly irrelevant. Tuesday mornings he’ll post his favourite two as a poll on Instagram. The winner becomes next weeks episode and he'll give it the best response he possibly can, no matter how ridiculous or strange. New episodes every Thursday.

Well... file this under the category "Questions too Big to Answer."   But that doesn't mean I won't give it a shot. ⬛️  The Question Box is simple: Each week pastor and author Kevin Makins invites listeners to ask the best question they can think of.    (Best is up to your discretion, but it’s anonymous… and absolutely nothing is off limits.) episode Is Satan Real? cover

Is Satan Real?

This was a tough one. Probably the most complicated question yet, and one I've spent a lot of time wrestling with. It's a tricky balance, to try to name spiritual realities in a way that is insightful and fresh, while also being rooted and faithful.    Not sure I nailed the balance, but I really gave it my all. And I hope it helps translate the ancient concept of "the satan" into language that resonates.   Also: While I didn't see it explicitly in the video, I do what to be clear that good therapy and good medication can be tools that help us grow in our spiritual life. All is connected.    So go to therapy. Get meds if you need them. Love God. Love others. Love yourself. Set rhythms. Pray.    The Adversary ain't got nothing on all that goodness.   ⬛️  The Question Box is simple:  Each week pastor and author Kevin Makins invites listeners to ask the best question they can think of.    (Best is up to your discretion, but it’s anonymous… and absolutely nothing is off limits.)    Make it personal or theoretical, a hot topic or utterly irrelevant.     Just be sure to share it in the comments.    Tuesday mornings he’ll post his favourite two as a poll on Instagram.    The winner becomes next weeks episode and he'll give it the best response he possibly can, no matter how ridiculous or strange.    New episodes on Thursdays.    🙏 Credits and thanks:    Branding by James Kingsley: jameskingsley.ca Theme song and music by Gareth Inkster: garethinkster.bandcamp.com    📖 My book, "Why Would Anyone Go to Church" is available now:    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1540900002?k 💻 the Internet:    Instagram: @kevinmakins Facebook: facebook.com/kevin.makins Twitter: twitter.com/kevinmakins Website: www.kevinmakins.com

episode What's the Deal With Christian Celebrities? cover

What's the Deal With Christian Celebrities?

From online preachers to podcast guru's, the spiritual market is getting flooded with celebrities and those trying to become them.   How can we properly navigate this moment? How are we feeding it?  And how the heck are we supposed to move forward?    ⬛️  The Question Box is simple:  Each week pastor and author Kevin Makins invites listeners to ask the best question they can think of.   (Best is up to your discretion, but it’s anonymous… and absolutely nothing is off limits.)    Make it personal or theoretical, a hot topic or utterly irrelevant.     Just be sure to share it in the comments.    Tuesday mornings he’ll post his favourite two as a poll on Instagram.    The winner becomes next weeks episode and he'll give it the best response he possibly can, no matter how ridiculous or strange.    New episodes every Thursday.    🙏 Credits and thanks:    Branding by James Kingsley: jameskingsley.ca  Theme song and music by Gareth Inkster: garethinkster.bandcamp.com    📖 My book, "Why Would Anyone Go to Church" is available now:     https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1540900002?k   💻 the Internet:    Instagram: @kevinmakins Facebook: facebook.com/kevin.makins Twitter: twitter.com/kevinmakins Website: www.kevinmakins.com

episode Is Self-Care Selfish? cover

Is Self-Care Selfish?

Get your bath bombs and epson salts ready... or video-games and greasy pizza. Self-care is having a real moment and it's great.    The ability to name our interior realities is a tremendous gift and something to celebrate.  But this language is new to us, and at times a little sloppy.   So just what is self-care? And are we ever just being plain self-ish?

Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
